Hitchclimber after many, many years of prussik, blakes etc.

Love the thing. The muscle my upper right arm used to swell up/hurt like hell after a long days climbing on a prussik, but since spending a few quid on a H/C it's totally lengthened my climbing time, don't even feel the old muscle pain now.:thumbup1:

Still not had a go with a lockjack, had a bit of a nosey at the last Arb show i went to, but the price did put me off to be honest.Seems a lot to pay if you find you don't get on with it.

Love my HC, tried my mates spiderjack once but found it a bit jittery not as smooth as a hitch. But certainly a good tool to try and i'm sure you'd get the knack for it after a while.

Lockjack extended on sling and rope walking with an ascension & footloop, plus a cmi foot ascender over spurs.Of course, you have the same options using a hitchclimber. It just keeps getting easier.:thumbup1:

There are so many better hitches that you can use instead of your prussic Stevie, just use the same bit of cord and the same technique but way nicer to use, we have this on our short ropes. Hitchclimber's only for big trees.

BTW I was joking about Mon Tues, but if you fancy it let me know. I'll show you some better knots.:001_smile:
