A good sized saw

Was thinking of purchasing a 576xp with a 24" bar, should be able tackle most take downs with this or should I just go for the 395xp. Just feel that the big saw comes rarely enough to warrant the purchase at this point...

I would go for a 390 over a 576 . They weigh almost the dsame but the 390 makes more power . But if it was between the 390 and the 395 it would be 395 all day long .

I have a 576 and a 395. My verdict is...................buy both!

 

 

A really sharp 576 is good enough for most everything.

 

S'funny you should ask this because I went to the pick up today to cut a pretty big oak butt off an uprooted stump (3ft or so) I got out the 395, tightened the chain, and then my eye caught the 576 sitting there and so I used that, it was lully!

Having worked at a firm with all the gear it just seemed like the 880-661s just sat in the lock up mostly and the 460s went out. When spending nearly a grand I want it to be versatile

Big saws, when you need 'em.....you need 'em.

 

Something like an 088 you'll only buy once in your professional life. I don't use mine often, maybe 8 times a year, but I'm glad I've got it.

 

It's tricky to make a decision, I willl say that whenever I've gone for as much power as I can afford, be it vehicles, saws, tractors whatever, I've never regretted it.

 

576 is a cracker though!

Personally I find a 576/372/461 size saw with a 2 foot bar on far more useful and manoeuvrable

I have been using a 576 for a few weeks, it's nice, also have 441 similar to the husqvarna in terms of capability just different in terms of where the power is, have to say i like the 660, bit heavier but a nice torquey power del. is steady and it seems unstoppable, not as nimble as the others, but guess u cannot have it all

Get the 576 now and borrow a larger saw when you need it until you can afford your own.. You can do alot with a 24inch bar

For sure, however affordability isn't really the issue. I could go and get a 3120xp it's just the average of takedowns rarely require enormous bars so a smaller saw would just be of more use perhaps....

True . I sold my 3120 on a 50" canon bar as it got used once in a blue moon .
