Finding staff

How do people go about finding decent people to work for them?

I could do with either employing someone for a couple days a week or preferably finding a decent subcontractor help me out as and when.

It would Mostly be for landscape maintenance work as that side of my business is doing well at the moment.

I know what you mean, I just can't decide whether it's worth the extra hassle or not to take another person on.

Decent subbies seem hard to come by as well.

If you pay more than everyone else, the best people will find you. Word gets round. That seems like a waste of money to many business owners, which is great... that's why it works!

If you find the right person its a question of whether they can be flexible to fit in with your busy days and 'not used' on the other days.

If you find a really good helper it may be worth paying them the full week to keep them sweet.

When demand > supply then price goes up.

Like you, they're probably working hard and running thier own business looking for like minded people to help them. Offer the right terms and they'll find you:)

the problem is, you mite just need them for one or two days. like you we have bills to pay and have to go were the work is.....no one seems to want to take on full time so this will carry on till its a full time job.
