Hi all yep it's nick again

Noticed in vacancies employment

Is there such a thing as a certification for towing?

I've towed many trailers but never took a certification for it !

Depends on when you passed your test - often referred to as grandfather rights.

 

Just check your driving licence as that should confirm whether or not you need to take a test.

If you passed your driving test pre 1997 you have entitlement tow up to 3500kg, post 97 and you have to do a new test to have entitlement, basically a driving test allover again but with a trailer on the back.

Anything over 3/4 ton- basically cos yr a LGV wi a trailer so watch yr speeds they are totally different . K

They do now even on pre 97 licences.

Your right. So far I have drawn a blank finding any hard facts.

 

I will now send a question to the tech line.

I sent them a question re this.

 

Stupidly I sent two questions at the same time. The reply just says its a mistake on the system & they are getting it changed.

 

I have asked if that applies to both of my questions & to every other pre 97 licence I have ever checked.

 

Still waiting for that reply.
