Another lovely Vid Reg.

Your posts deserve un-divided attention and I’ve waited till Sunday afternoon to view it (nice and quiet, no kids, peace and calm in the house). Excellent take-down on a nasty tree. It would be interesting to know when it was last topped as that was some re-growth!

In my experience here in the midlands Poplars get to a certain age, topped or not and then they just seem to break apart over time. I’ve got several big-ones to take down – all straight fells thank goodness.

Nice work!

I would say around twenty so years regrowth, amazing how strong the unions were as they were some big picks.

Get some pictures of the fells John.

couldnt you use a crane john, or section it in little bits or maybe use a mewp, please justify your actions, and i want to see pics of fungis and shattered limbs to warrant such a heavy handed approach to tree work:lol:

Mate – we’re quiet here in L/A land, I’m just going to randomly select some big impressive trees to fell, chop’em down and forget about the replacements. :thumbup1:

I'd love the opportunity to use a crane on a TD but it's finding a customer willing to stump up the dosh.

It'll be £1400 to take your tree down luv, or I could fell it across your lawn for half of that but it will leave a few divits.

Oohh, fell please Dean !! I dont mind a divit or two !

Theres too many Divs in Hudders.............oh you said Divots. Sorry.:001_tt2:

Crane jobs are the way forward. Make the customer feel it is the safest way to do it, and the way with least disruption.

i think the diference is in the size of these trees dean and the surroundings, we dont work far from home but if a company in a big city has to take a few days it must cost them a fortune in time, so i rekon a crane would be cheaper in the long run. its hte same with mewps, i can get a lorry mounted one that can go 120' feet up and out for 360 a day with operator, now if i want to do the groundwork and need to get a climber and other help then that soaks up 200quid already, and there is no doubt the mewp is quicker(oh no what have i said, he will be on in a minute lol) so it is the same with a crane. it isnt being dishonest if it works out more cost effective and safer
