Hello all,

Trying to find a company to sell me the cover/product I want.

I have a 13 plate Ford Ranger super cab, used 90% for work purposes (bridge maintenance).

I would need fully comp, to include breakdown/recovery, like for like courtesy vehicle, optional cover for loss of earnings/interruption of business, and cover for trailer.

The trailer issue seems to be the sticking point with companies I have spoken to so far.

I'm looking for cover in the event that my vehicle breaks down while towing trailer with quad/chipper, most roadside recovery policies will only cover the recovery of vehicle and not trailer and its contents.

Any advice gratefully received.

If you get your ranger serviced by a Ford dealer, you get 12 months breakdown cover from Ford

If you don't fix it roadside they will recover it and your trailer

Had my Ranger insured with Direct Line and was recovered with Ifor Williams trailer when I broke down. Now with Aviva and I'm sure they cover trailers as well. Courtesy vehicle is a Transit as they don't do pick ups.

It may depend on what cover you need for the trailer. 3rd party cover so it is came off and got someone, etc or if you want fully comp so if you are hit both your vehicle and trailer are covered. Many won't offer the latter.

Try your local NFU mutual office. Did my Navaras for years on a commercial policy with NFU. Trailer cover and breakdown was in there. It was expensive but you get what you pay for.
