  2. Hello out there, Anyone recommend a decent outfit who supply SEASONED logs in the Liverpool area please? Cheers
  3. Apologies if this has been asked before (I couldn’t find it). so I’ve got limited space to store split logs and wondered if anyone has experimented with stacking rings vertically (in my case they will be 25cm in length), and then split as and when required. Would I be slowing the drying out process markedly?

    Mevagissey

Anyone near Mevagissey able to do a shuttered concrete base for a cast iron mile post adjacent to a cycle path for me?
  6. I’ve got a small job needs doing in Mevagissey, looking for a Brickie to cast a new shuttered concrete base for a cast iron mile post adjacent to a cycle path, anyone know of someone who may be able to help?
  7. Looking for a self employed climber to help out on a ad hoc basis in the South Wales valleys area, top rates offered. 07795 363175
  8. Yes that must be it, these trees are adjacent to the Chivas bonded warehouse on Clydebank, It’s most unusual.
  9. All these trees were coated in black, they looked like there had been a fire but there hasn’t been, any ideas?
  10. Client wants me to dig up a Norway spruce that he planted in his front garden because he’s moving and wants it replanted in his new garden, it’s not that big, about 10ft, what’s the chances of this being successful? Not sure if it’s worth the hassle but I said I’d give it a go, how much of the root system would I need to keep intact?
  11. Yes thanks Mr Squirrel, I’ve got some insurance consultant friends looking over the policy for me, to be quite Frank, I’m astonished with the way Arborisk are trying to play this, the people I’m speaking to at there office just make me cringe, just as well be talking Swahili to an automated machine.
  12. Definitely taking this as far as I can, best if I don’t go into too much detail at the moment, other than very disappointed with responses to my questions, there’s been a lot of ‘changing the goal posts’ if you know what I mean.
  13. Following on from my recent post, I took the advice from some members to lodge a formal complaint, just come off the phone to them now, if you could hear the bullshit they coming out with, if it wasn’t so serious it would be funny. I urge anyone who has a policy with them to take the time to scrutinise every word of the conditions, because I think some of you may find you are wasting your money and the product is worthless. Rant over (for now).
  14. So going back to my original question in my post, does anyone on here have cover to protect the contents of there vehicle if a theft occurs overnight and the vehicle is not in a locked building? If they do, I’d really like to know who the insurer are👍
  15. Exactly, can you imagine walking into the Premier Inn with PETROL powered tools? Totally unrealistic.
  16. Hoping that Mods will allow this post here rather than the insurance forum as I imagine more people may see it and offer advice. We had our vehicle broken into overnight while working away in Lincoln recently, (chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws, helmets, climbing gear, basically everything. We are insured with Aborisk and have been for over 12 years and have never had to make a claim. We have just been informed by them that we are in breach of our policy because “vehicle was not kept in a locked building overnight”. We literally work all over the country and just finding affordable/available accommodation is hard enough without stipulating the requirement for a locked garage. Bearing in mind that this is a commercial policy and the nature of the work we do nationwide, this policy is clearly not fit for our purposes, we feel really let down by Arborisk, particularly when over the years we have tweaked/amended the policy with there advice, never once did they advise us that while working away our vehicle must be kept in a locked building overnight. Yes, of course it’s our responsibility to read the policy wording (wonder how many actually do?). Anyway, let this be a warning to you out there who work away from home and don’t keep there vehicle in a locked building overnight. Having said that, anyone have a policy that covers there tools in a locked/alarmed vehicle overnight albeit parked on a gated private driveway? I would be very interested to read your thoughts please as our policy is up for renewal next month (out of principal, we certainly WONT be using Aborisk again). Thanks for reading.
  17. Just putting it out there, our vehicle broken into on Sunday night in Lincoln, a couple of 560xp’s, Stihl fs460, Stihl hs82, helmets, cordless tools, camera. All the above had DAWSIE with mobile phone number stencilled on them.
  18. Looking for some Lime blanks in the South Wales area if anyone can help please. Cheers
  19. Looking for some seasoned Lime blanks in the South Wales area if anyone can help? Cheers
  20. Any fencers on here? Need a price to supply & fit approx 50mts of square timber post & 4 rail fence (motorway spec), posts will need to be dug out as no access for post knocker. Cheers
  21. Thank you for that Paddy, I’m afraid I don’t have any photos at the moment.
  22. Hello out there and seasons greetings to you all. I’ve got a mature Honey Locust tree in our new garden, it’s been neglected and in need of a bit of tlc, pruning of rubbing branch work, etc. question is, is now a good time or leave it until the spring? Thanks for reading 👍
  23. Would appreciate your thoughts on this tree please, I think it’s a Honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthos sunburst) but not sure, up to 20 pairs of pinnate yellowish leaves this time of year, a gorgeous garden tree, just want to know the name of it!
