  2. Hmm, will see if my Stihl hedge cutter attachment will fit on to my mates Stihl pole saw, any special connector/coupler required or a simple straight swap? Thank you
  3. Thanks for the suggestions so far, yes, tried the ladder approach, literally not enough width to move around, it is so tight. The Echo telescopic with additional extension suggestion may be worth pursuing though. I've always exclusively used Stihl hedge trimmers so know nothing about the Echo, are they up to the job?
  4. Anyone have any bright ideas how I can tackle a 6mtr high conifer hedge that requires a short back & sides, trouble is that access to the front face is awkward because of close proximity to two bloody poly tunnels more or less running the whole length of the hedge (approx. 20mts) there is literally just enough space to stand between hedge and poly tunnels. This hedge is in a large rear garden with no access for any type of tele handler to lift me over the top of the poly tunnels and apart from erecting a scaffold working platform over the poly tunnels I cant think of another way of doing it, apart from an extra long hedge trimmer, is there such a thing available? This situation is made somewhat more awkward by the fact that this is the home of a commercial client of mine that I get quite a bit of work from so it wont go down too well if I try and get out of it by saying I'm too busy, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated.

  22. Having trouble finding a climbers lid that sits on my head properly instead of being precariously perched on the uppermost part of my head. Tried the Petzls and Stiens but to no avail. Any large headed individuals out there found a suitable helmet? Cheers
  23. OK, Spud, I'll run with that, but its the recovery of the trailer and its contents, be it quad or chipper that I'm focusing on. I'm of the understanding that AA or RAC recovery/roadside assistance/breakdown cover won't recover the pickup and the trailer because of the length/width limit, surely someone has had this happen to them?
  24. Hi, I've just posted in the insurance section but thought I would ask the question here as well. I'm having trouble finding a company who will insure my vehicle and trailer for roadside recovery in the event that my vehicle breaks down whilst towing trailer with quad/chipper on board. This has never happened to me (yet) what do you do in this situation? Thanks in advance
  25. Hello all, Trying to find a company to sell me the cover/product I want. I have a 13 plate Ford Ranger super cab, used 90% for work purposes (bridge maintenance). I would need fully comp, to include breakdown/recovery, like for like courtesy vehicle, optional cover for loss of earnings/interruption of business, and cover for trailer. The trailer issue seems to be the sticking point with companies I have spoken to so far. I'm looking for cover in the event that my vehicle breaks down while towing trailer with quad/chipper, most roadside recovery policies will only cover the recovery of vehicle and not trailer and its contents. Any advice gratefully received.
