carb screw type ??

Does anyone know whats the name for this type of carb screw E.g.( D, double D, pacman, splined ).

the screw heads are smooth around the circumference with only the litle holes in the heads

nope, its more like a pair of googly eyes.

its a solid circle screw head with an off center hole that dosent breach the outside of the screw head

Sometimes one of these type connectors can be forced on and used as a tool to get them moving, but yes, get them out and put a slot in them,

the tool you require is an MTD part number 797-00039

best of luck in finding one

I could only find one available in the uk on diyspareparts.com for the reasonable price of £47.78

 

a search reveals that the sale of the tool was banned by the EPA in the states to stop the unauthorised twiddling of the mixture screws by non service personnel

Thanks for the parts no, MTD is big over here in France so I might be lucky in finding one ( depending on the price ).

I've dremeled a few carb screws in the past but I'd like the screwdriver just for convenience and on-site adjustment at the clients home rather than in the workshop unless absolutely necessary

I bought one around a year back & it seems the pt# has been amended to dropping the last 9 in the #,when I looked up where I bought it It comes up as discontinued item. As it's a tool for Zama carbs I would hope that someone somewhere would have one IIRC I paid around 6 Euro's for mine
