Chipper engine size matter?

Even against a bigger machine?

Ha fair enough, of course I mean like for like in the 6" class it's a beast, some people do not seem to rate it though so it's just my opinion.

Strangely we tried the 8" chipper and didn't like it as much as we were thinking of replacing our Forst 6" with the TW 8", we have decided to wait another year and see what happens.

The TW230 is almost on par with the old 190 IMO.

But i saw a video of the Estonian TW dealer doing a head to head of the 190 vs 280 and there wasn't anything in it.

Jensen and Först? Something like the son of the then Uk dealer of jensen designed and built Först based on Jensens but "improved" them.

Ive an older Jensen (2007) pleased with it, changing the blades and anvils is a doddle compared to chippers I've used of similar age.

The 280 has an aperture of 280x210 ie. 11x8 inches.

The 230 is not really a 6" inch machine, i agree they are brilliant though.

I had thought the 280 would be a stonker, but if you demo'd a 280 and were underwhelmed fair enough.

I wouldn't say underwhelmed, having used the old 150 and 190 a lot over the last 15 years the 230 was a significant improvement feels more like an 8" machine. So when we had the 280 we kind of hoped it would also be a step up from its predecessor but it wasn't such a leap.
