Could not find a single uk supplier Andy so looked at tree stuffs website plenty on there and some real fancy stuff too so ordered last Friday for a failing beech the client wants to try and save with rods through the trunk and a main cable above and it arrived here on Wednesday but with a £30 import charge. Check them out all I could find was the same old dynamic cobra /boa from uk suppliers no good for an already failing tree.

Is there a reason you can't use a synthetic bracing system, used both over the years and they are sonics easier to deal with?

Just to much movement in them. You need static steel cable for a already failing tree. Stop the limbs moving and rod brace them together.

Can you get some pics up when you do it Matty?

Very rare to see bracing installation pics on here.

I think that could be because of their taboo. Maybe people don't want to still be seen as doing them when it is deemed out of date by some. I personally prefer it in some situations. Really longlasting and looks good when done right.

I've only ever cut them out Jake.

As you say, surely a better solution in certain situations.

I think that's the same as most people Mark, which is a shame as they only see negatives and never see the benefits.

I prefer using steel for fixed bracing and cobra for dynamic, this multiheaded lime has a weak union at the base so will have steel bracing with threaded bar drilled though the stems.

Westward rope and wire ( Exeter ) will have all the components , but not in kit form so you will need to order what you need ... very good place for such stuff . splicing , and all rope, wire and webbing fasteners etc etc ...
