Yes logs are seasoned, only burn Ash and Beech, save the best for personel use:001_smile:

stove is a Firefox 5

the complaint wasnt caused by smoke, I dont believe, just miserable neighbours!

head of residents commitee doest like my logstore with sedum roof, tried to tell me I needed planning permission !!

I have the same stove and I live in a smokeless zone also ! looks like I could be in for it as well. :001_tt2:

I would get all info you need from defra knowing what the law states and the fact your stove is approved https://smokecontrol.defra.gov.uk/appliances.php?country=england#F it's listed here on the defra website

and then phone them to ask them what the problem is ?

then inform them that their talking crap!

Council building control office should know exactly what model has been installed as it will be on file as a result of the sign off. Maybe its a clerical issue at that end, you would have thought they would have done their homework before writing.

Certainly if it is a Defra approved model then burning wood logs is perfectly legal within a smoke control area. I suggest you get a copy of your invoice from your supplier and a statement from them if it is Defra approved. If its the non approved version you will need to look at fitting a conversion kit if available to reduce the travel of the air supply controls. If that is not available then legally you are unable to burn logs on your stove within a SC area.
