Probably going to sound like a daft question but is chain oil chain oil or are they all different? I'm using the Oregon chain oil in my 550XP but I'm finding it too think if that makes sense. All the oilers are clear on the bar but it doesn't seem to do a great job. I turned the oiler up but it just started literally pouring out. Any thoughts?

Interesting to hear all the different opinions. The bar is getting oil so it's not all bad. Maybe it's all in my head, or I'm just being seriously anal [emoji23]

Cold weather ? . Maybe you could find a thinner oil for the winter ....possibly ?

You could be onto something there. It's been bloody cold the past few days mind you and it is kept in the garage. It's maybe just because it was cold

Several old timers told me that they would mix 5% paraffin with chain oil for winter when zero or sub zero to help thin out and wash bar/chain better. I have met quite a few who have done this over my 35 years in the chainsaw industry.
