Billet in metre lengths stack to dry then cut to ordered size euro style!!

Thats how we do it. I put the billets through the processor . I have a lot of customers that want 16-18" logs most want 10" for small log burners

we have all different sizes

we don't pre-pack or anything - we load the trailer by hand on the day of delivery - and select logs suitable for customers fire / burner

Another point I was trying to get at is at what size is it pointless splitting the log and best left as a round log 4", 5",6"??? and if they are not split do they still season ok?...... I quite like having proper round logs around my fire and I am sure that there is a market for this.

If I'm stockpiling I cut 10-12", but it will always depend on the grain, form and species of log to be split.

Big (18" ish) logs for pubs etc. cut to order.

4" logs for tiny wood burners? Do you want to pay 3x as much 'cos it's three times the work? Thought not. Goodbye.

Research your customers, pure and simple. If you are supplying private homes, do they have old-fashioned open-fires or log-burners? If you are supplying pubs, how big is their fireplace? Of course, smaller logs burn quicker so they need replacing earlier :thumbup1:
