Beech trunk for sale

I think you will struggle to get decent or even any money above fire wood value for it, I sold 6 artic loads of Lime, Oak and Ash, there was some beautiful Beech, but was too big, so they did not want it, ended up as firewood at £40 a tonne.

Tbh regardless of size coloured beech has never been in favour by mills.

White planking beech ,..mid 50s tonne delivered, oversize for blockwood same price. So as you say , firewood price.

Yes it was coloured, in fact it was the tree in my avatar.

what did beech do to be such a despised timber??? as long as it's not to be used for exterior purposes it's a perfectly good timber in my book.

 

Agreed, it has no fungal resistance so useless outdoors, but I have an 8' slab at 3" x 40" in the yard destined to be my dining table in a few years :001_rolleyes:
