whats the advantage over a quad

Fair question! From a practical perspective the horses have significantly more pulling power than a quad, and cause less ground damage in the process as the wheels aren't driven so they don't dig into soft ground in the same way. Also the locking axle rather than stabilising legs means it's much quicker to stop/start around the woods to load up. Aside from all of that it's a big USP for our business and is a lot of fun to drive/use!!

We used various custom designed horse tools in the woodlands with extraction to the ride-side and a small U421/600 with a Mowi Skog 8 crane to remove trees back to base for processing into products. Nice to turn off the chainsaws and have the silence of the woodland with the horses.

I was telling an associate who keeps heavy horses about your set-up today........

Seems you know each other. Or at least he seemed to know you. (Hawthorn).

It's a small world in the working horse business! Who was it out of interest? (DM me if you don't want to post on here!)
