What kind of van is it eggs? My transit was broken into using a key you can buy off ebay that fits any Ford. As like you, nothing was taken as I don't store tools in there. I thought I'd forgotten to lock it the night before which would have been unusual as I'm normally really careful so I checked my cctv and sure enough I locked it. I then checked and saw 3 scrotes breaking in with the key. The police were really helpful to be fair, only took them 4 weeks to come and view the footage and told me that because they didn't recognise the people there's nothing they could do!

If I was to catch them and use the pipe wrench method do you think it would be ok to say to the police 'It's ok officer, Ted on Arbtalk said it would alright to brain the little shite'?

Eggs, your right. Discretion is the better part of valor. I will pack my overnight bag and sort out the little shite myself. No fuss, no muss, just the satisfaction in knowing there one less mouth breather ever bothering folks again. Now of course my offer was only in jest, after all I still need your address:sneaky2:

It's a Transit, I've heard of these Tibbe keys?

Funnily enough I was telling a lad what had happened today, he told me that quite a few Transit had been done locally with no trace of how they had been broken into. T'was in the local paper apparently.

Either they got disturbed or didn't want to take a couple of cordless drills and electrical test meters.

The thing I'm puzzled about is the van was locked when I went out to it this morning.

From what I can gather this is the sort of thing that is being used.

Here in the states that could be considered a PSA, Public Service Announcement.

At least you may know how someone entered your transit. I guess like the man said on the video time to visit the lock smith, get the tumblers changed out.

Maybe it's an over 50 moment, one does forget things with age. Or else the intruder felt pity for you and left some cash in the ashtray. Sounds like you got away lightly eggs

I understand what you and vesp's are saying about having a senior moment, but it didn't happen.

I parked the van on Friday and all was normal. There was no need to shift the seat or turn the light to the off position.

My neighbour says he's not got anything on his cctv apart from my security light coming on at 03.17 on Sunday morning..... No sign of why it came on though.
