Hitch lock

Hi Just bought my first chipper Its a 2010 Jensen 530 contractor so I m paranoid about someone nicking it Sleepless nights about the cost and sleepless nights about some toerag having it away I ve got a wheel clamp for it and wanted a Bulldog hitch lock but I can t work out what model as the hitch isn t listed I haven t picked it up yet but had some pictures sent to me and can see the name Knott on the draw bar

Any ideas/suggestions gratefully received as I need a good kip

Bulldog is a good call mate, but don't just rely on locks.

Anything can be cut with the right tools, and the scum have them.

I know just got to make it as hard as possible The wife won t let me keep it in the house

Wheel clamp and hitch lock on mine. Also going to install a big steel ring in the floor to chain the axle to.

You just need to slow them down as much as possible to give you a chance to catch em

Where have you got it stored? If it's in a container then weld up a big ground anchor right below the axle and chain the axle to it. Repeat towards the front as well. Certainly makes it harder to access to cut. Then alarm the container as well.

Pain in the a**e I know but if you are able to store the machine with both wheels removed. Lower machine to below wheel centre height then hide the jack, wheels and wheel nuts. You can also buy shear nuts and security nut covers so you can fabricate one or two extra hoops for running chain through and using those nuts or covers means you need a grinder to remove the hoops to free the machine from the chain. Depending on the location of the machine to your property you could also rig up a couple of trip wires made from fishing line which are fixed to spring loaded 12 bore cartridge holders. (Minus the pellets) Fishing line releases a spring loaded pin which acts like the firing pin in the gun setting off a loud bang.

Also hang a roll of toilet paper close by just in case YOU forget it's there. Take it from me it scares the brown stuff out of you if you forget

Baby alarm/monitor with the 'parent' end in the bedroom wakes me the moment theres any sound from the garage.

It is a shame that such measures have to be taken, the punishment doesn't suit the crime.
