Injury Claims

Has anyone made or had made against them an injury claim.?

 

If a temporary employee were to cut themselves with a hedge cutter and end up with stitches, would they be eligible to claim anything?

It wouldn't be against you, or them, it would be against your, or theirs, Employers Liability insurance.

Have things really got that had that people can make claims for a few stitches? Loss of limb I can understand. I assume that's not the case though here

Just trying to understand what the procedures are.. Obviously the insurance will deal with it (thanks for your insight Mark) but it is something else to deal with, and premiums are bound to rise... And if a payouts for stupidity occur, it would be a huge injustice... IMO.

Legally, I have no idea.

 

Morally, it depends. If I were to have an injury due to someone else's kit malfunctioning on me, I might feel aggrieved. Then again it's my choice to use that kit and I should know if it's safe.

 

I certainly wouldn't bitch about a flesh wound.

 

I have sued for inadequate sexual harassment though.

If I can do a loud fart in the succeeding month, it was inadequate.
