you wont go wrong with that, had mine going on 6 years now, never any trouble at all...is not once been in the shop, and its seen a lot of timber! i may get another one if they are going to discontinue them. i hear what everyones saying about the 441, and i agree...i have used one too and they are nice saws. just something about the feel of the 460 though that cant be replaced.

I ended up using for longer than I should today (should have picked up the 036) due to how light it seemed - does have a lovely feel I must agree. Totally comfortable in my hands anyway. I think my first ever thread on Arbtalk was about 70-80cc saws in the context of sitka butressing etc and I opted for the Makita 7901. That saw has long gone and I most definately should have got the 460 in the first place. Power and weight figures on paper - I'm increasingly having my doubts...

I think the 460 is a great saw, future classic like the husky 254 is.ultra reliable and full of grunt.not without its criticisms though.awkward switch and not the most manouverable IMO,i've had a husky 372 (in protest initially) since last june and apart from the odd quirk its been great,i think it lacks the raw power of the 460 but seems reasonably economical, reliable so far and easier to chuck around.having said all that i'd take the 460 new if the price was right
