Was climbing with my petzl steel carab today, and noticed that it was a bit sluggish on closing. Would something like PTFE spray or 3in1 be good on that? Or any other suggestions?

It's what I do for people I don't know or trust enough.

That is the way it works in my world, he signs off my work, then I pay him for the tickets if my work meets the required standards. Or I could just send him the dollar, (what does that actually mean!?) Before I've clapped eyes on him.

Magnolia getting too large, no I.D. Keep or cut down?
spudulike replied to Little Splodge's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
That magnolia looks like one I had at my previous house. The thing just puts on loads of growth each year and needs thinning out often to keep it at a manageable size. It isn't sniffy at when or how much in my experience. -
Interesting way of doing business. Don't you do the work, invoice then supply documents after payment or am I a dinosaur in a modern world of shysters🤔
-
Or do they think i have? I need some work signed off, which I fully understand some trades aren't happy to do, so I expect it to cost a premium, it goes a bit like this. Inspect and sign this off bud? Yep, £350 (Although way overpriced) I go with.it. I'll be there Monday, but you'll have to send me the dollar over now.. Never dealt with the fella before. Either I'm going mad or...

Magnolia getting too large, no I.D. Keep or cut down?
Little Splodge replied to Little Splodge's question in Homeowners Tree Advice Forum
Yes that’s exactly what is happening Dan, its shot skyward this year and that coupled with my removal of some wider spreading branches is making it look a bit odd although still attractive. So my main question is will (annual?) removal of some of its height and width if it will tolerate it, stop the roots spreading so wide? -
I so nearly added that one and then for some reason didn't. Now have. Could you vote for it please.
-
Fixed eye krab spliced on.

You can vote for more than one option if you have more than one rigging rope, kept differently. If your answer isn't in the poll, reply in writing instead please. If it depends on who used it last, vote for all the possible ways you might find it.

You look to have missed that one. Not confused now nor previously, maybe it’s that “ being worse for wear” affecting you 42. Always best to just STFU when bad with the drink if memory serves me right.

And now a little song sung by my old next door neighbor.

Thanks to everyone who has taken to time to reply. I will be taking on board everyone’s comment’s and getting out there and climbing. OP was more to gain insight into other peoples personal experiences etc and I will not be climbing anywhere which will put people at risk. (Common sense) thanks again 👍

dvla have always been problematic, you could phone on ten successive days, ask the exact same question and get a different answer each time. I recall one instance when you had to surrender the old tax disc to got a refund for the remaining duty, they asked for "recorded delivery" with a signature upon receipt, which I duly complied with, over a month passes and I have yet to receive my refund, so I phone them, 3,1/2 days later somebody actually answered the phone and informed it was lost? "But you signed for it, so it wasn't lost in post at all was it,?" a brief silence ensued,, she then said,, "no it was lost internally" "Ok, what happens now?" "no disc, no refund I'm afraid" wankers!! now they have a different scheme whereby the tax cannot be transferred with change of ownership of the vehicle. and the present owner gets back any full remaining months duty, and the new owner has to tax from the beginning of the month he wishes to use the vehicle from, the current month has been paid for already by the previous owner, but if new owner needs to use the vehicle immediately he has to backdate it to the beginning of the already paid for month. and your refund is calculated from the date they deal with it, so if they "lose it" that's never. I told dvla long ago ,I usually like being kissed when I'm getting fecked.
