  2. Didn’t take a picture but here’s the scenario. 5/10 year dead oak stem about 40 ft tall has fallen into a house, gutter bent, bit of flashing and a few tiles damaged, not too bad at the moment. Customer (not a previous client) has phoned and asked me to come urgently, when I phoned him back he asked “which company are you?” so I’m not the only one who seen it. It is too risky to climb, it’s just sitting on the rootball, he’s tried to secure it with ropes, but it could still just tip with me on it. I could winch it off but the top could snap and drop onto the roof. Long story short I just turn it down His tone is slightly accusatory towards me. But I tell him, he’s had over 5 years to remove this clearly dead tree, 3 metres from his house, now because he didn’t want to spend the money he wants me to risk my life, and my insurance because of his mistake. Anyway, drove off running it through my mind, I made the right choice, and if you can’t tell them a home truth when you’re in your 60s when can you?

  4. Yes not only expensive spares but no UK stock and has to be had from Europe due to the low numbers of 4x4 variants on our soils.

  6. The colour or ethnicity of the rapists should have no bearing on the crime, or for that matter the unfortunate victim, more emphasis should be directed at eliminating the actual problem not the ratios of skin colour and who posted it on here or elsewhere. I stand by my previous comments about the punishment of convicted rapists, for the crime, no other reason. feck it, give me the legal authority and I'll hang the cnuts all day long.
  7. 100% I don’t think enough people even give a minute’s thought to the aftermath of these incidents, what those children, girls or woman went through or live with afterwards. Many are just way too busy throwing the racist accusation around to even care. SP/TA seems to have had a change of heart. Common sense maybe at last.
  8. that was my point. and those that vilify those that point it out are more concerned about colour and ethnicity than the plight of the victims.

  10. There is an old lime kiln in a chalk quarry nearby. It may have been dug by the Romans initially as the Roman Road is not far away. My four greats grandfather used to operate the kiln, most of the lime I think would have been used for building but some went on the fields. I used to hear stories from old farm workers of their grandfathers spreading lime from the back of a wagon. Not only was it terrible on the lungs in spite of wearing linen masks, but as they were standing in the stuff it felt as though their feet were on fire, as the lime sucked all the moisture out. I am not too sure of the chemistry, there are many out there on Arbtalk who will correct me, but as I understand it you burn the chalk in a kiln Chalk CaCO3 calcium carbonate, the CO2 burns away leaving quicklime CaO Calcium Oxide which they used for dead bodies in earthquake tragedies . when CaO comes into contact with water you have slaked lime Calcium Hydroxide Ca(OH)2 + heat, which is how it ends up in the fields.
  11. The world’s best-selling chainsaw brand, STIHL, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Since 1926, STIHL has defined the global standard for battery and petrol-powered forestry, landscaping, and residential gardening equipment for professional and domestic users alike. Built to make work in nature easier, STIHL began as a one-man operation in a Stuttgart workshop. Today, it stands as an internationally renowned leader in dual technology solutions. The family-owned company, rooted in petrol-powered products, celebrates its centennial by continuing to lead innovation across both petrol and battery-powered technologies. To mark the milestone, STIHL will host a range of celebrations in Great Britain and across its global network throughout the year. To kick off, STIHL will pay tribute to the famous MS 500i, the world’s first mass-produced petrol chainsaw with electronically controlled fuel injection, by launching a centennial edition of the model. The tool achieves an impressively low power-to-weight ratio of 1.24 kg/kW and features an elegant black design and distinctive centenary detailing. Remaining true to the performance of the original, the special edition model continues to set the benchmark for demanding forestry applications and will be available to buy later in the year from selected dealers. Additionally, STIHL will run a series of competitions on its social channels throughout the year to reward its loyal customers and help them share in the celebrations. Taking place at its Contra House headquarters on 25th June, STIHL will also host a special dealer conference with dedicated awards ceremony, recognising its valued dealer network. The STIHL 100 Awards will shine a spotlight on star dealers, acknowledging the contribution they make to the brand’s continued success. Dr. Nikolas Stihl, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of STIHL, said: “Any company that reaches the grand old age of 100 hasn’t got there by relying on tradition alone.” “It can only stay successful for a century if it knows its roots, while also recognising when it’s time to start a new chapter. With that in mind, our anniversary is not just a time to look back, but also a moment to recognise the strength that comes from our combination of heritage, engineering expertise, and the courage to innovate.” For more information on STIHL products, visit www.stihl.co.uk or contact your nearest STIHL Approved Dealer. 12. I’ve often wondered what the process was that allowed the authorities to turn a blind eye or ignore the industrial scale rape of children and young girls in the UK by predominantly Pakistani Muslim men. Dempsey has just provided a good example of what was in no small measure a big part of the problem.

  14. I didn’t for one minute expect a straight honest answer from you. On the well worn racist accusation path, what is your experience of working overseas SP/TA, asked it before I knowbut hey you can only hope !! Your previous post contained zero facts or evidence as usual. Right on time looks like your beloved asylum seekers just can’t help themselves.
  15. That’s very true but it still stands that certain ethnic groups are substantially more likely to be committing the offences, the tragic thing for the victims is certain people are more likely to be offended by someone pointing out the obvious rather than the by the actual offence.
  16. Answered above in my post. Read and understand. If you need help with the big words, ask one of your kids for help.
  17. As I have said previously, the offence of rape should have a penalty of death upon a conviction, irrespective of the skin colour or ethnicity of those found guilty, the judicial system currently is running scared trying to avoid criticism for being "racist" that should not be considered at all, manipulating figures to avoid such criticism detracts from the severity and frequency of the offence. those that choose to focus or object more to skin colour, ethnicity or any other demographic rather than the actual offence are part of the problem.
  18. And why do you think there’s a reluctance to record or disclose ethnicity Oldfeller??
  19. In other words total made up BS That you can’t back up. Just for clarity are you saying that some nationalities in particular among those illegally entering the UK are not disproportionately more likely to commit sexual offences or rape than the the indigenous population ?? That’s a very simple question even for you.
  20. I was going to say similar. If it’s a big thing to get to, sure, don’t be gay, make the trip; it’ll be a good story. My approach in the UK (most of England where most of the population is anyway) is just don’t bother. For the four or five days a year of snow we get here, just stay at home and save yourself about a 10,000% chance of an accident. Most things can wait a day or two.
  21. Based in Bradford, I am looking for ground-work during my 4-day rest blocks. As a serving Firefighter and Army Reservist, I am highly disciplined, physically fit, and strictly adhere to H&S and risk assessments. I am used to operating equipment, working in PPE for long durations, and performing under physical stress in all weather conditions. I have my own PPE and transport. I am very keen to gain site experience while I work towards my quals. If you need someone who is punctual, follows briefings to the letter, and is ready for hard graft, please get in touch. Available for day-rate work across Bradford, Leeds, and wider West Yorkshire. Contact: 07873327589 or [email protected]
  22. Based on available data from the UK government and police forces, figures on the ethnicity of rape perpetrators are not considered to be fully accurate or comprehensive. While some local data has highlighted disproportionality in specific areas, national-level data is generally flawed due to significant gaps in recording. Here is a breakdown of the accuracy and limitations regarding rape ethnicity data: Significant Data Gaps: Ethnicity is not recorded for a large proportion of offenders. A national audit (January 2026) found that the ethnicity of perpetrators is not recorded for roughly two-thirds of cases, meaning a complete, accurate national assessment is impossible. Issues with Recording: Data quality regarding ethnicity within police platforms is often unreliable, as noted in Freedom of Information disclosures. Records often rely on "police-defined" ethnicity rather than self-defined ethnicity, which can lead to inaccuracies. Underreporting and Hidden Context: Many sexual offences are never reported, and for those that are, convictions are low (less than 1% of reported rapes often lead to conviction, according to some analyses), meaning the data only represents a small fraction of total offences. Regional Differences: While national data is sparse, local police data has, at times, shown disproportionate numbers of men from certain ethnic backgrounds (specifically Asian backgrounds) among suspects in particular cases of group-based child sexual exploitation (CSE). The "Grooming Gang" Context: Reports on the ethnicity of people involved in child sexual exploitation have been criticized for potential bias, small sample sizes, and the fact that a large proportion of cases have unknown perpetrator ethnicity. Conclusion on Accuracy Data that claims to show precise ethnic breakdowns of all rape offenders in the UK is generally unreliable due to high volumes of missing data and inconsistent recording methods. The data often reflects reporting biases and policing focus rather than a complete picture of offender demographics
