Neighbour's application to cut back my tpo'd tree
LilyLangtree replied to LilyLangtree's topic in Trees and the Law
My comment was not really aimed at you Mick. No offence. -
Other smaller spruce have died very quickly at the same property. Thanks.

Looks like a simple case of powdery mildew due to the excessive heat here. It will probably be gone by the end of next week if the current forecast for rain is correct.

Neighbour's application to cut back my tpo'd tree
Mick Dempsey replied to LilyLangtree's topic in Trees and the Law
Ok, figured as much. Seems fair. -
OK. That is actually fair. I'm still laughing though, you imp.
-
last line of my post ‘stolen’ from this film.

I am a consultant asking other consultants!

There has been a couple of times I looked at the 2 of them, Trump and Vance, and Vance was setting himself up nice to be the tough guy - which appeals to the MAGA voters - noting things like Zelensky, the Greenland trip, a trip to Israel, always at Trumps side in the White house when a foreign leader needs 'taking down', and so on, setting himself up as the successor. He has gone quieter though the last couple of weeks, a bit of distancing. ( I am also reminded of Nicola Sturgeon / Alex Salmond and their independence referendum - there was a point when Sturgeon was at Salmonds side, best pals and supporters, then 'something' happened, Sturgeon distanced herself very obviously, stuck in the knife, and took over... might be a parallel happening here... She denied it of course but I suspect the 'something' was when she learnt of another accusation against Salmond.... curiously Vance has distanced himself when accusations against Trump surfaced... and he is ready to stick in the knife. Best buddies do that in US politics it appears)

Very good! These two trees are though a gate and up steps behind a house, not an easy removal. I have already flatly refused to top them many times. Genuinely, they have spent a small fortune with me over the last 15 years (and they’re American so expect their ‘expert’ to show some expertise occasionally)

Beaten by the edit, Stubby.

I know, and there is a debate to be had about it. I saw some bloke who video tapes himself mountain biking in the Dolomites along perilous ridges fell off and met his maker. If none of these adrenaline junkie sorts didn’t lose no one would watch. I have no time for people who gamble their lives for fun or clicks. It’s all you’ve got, and all you’ll ever have.

Bit like " money fungus " 🙂

Suspect the finances arn't there for that, any tax rise to pay for nationalising - to buy it back again - would be met with tears. Railways are slightly different, nothing to buy back at the end of a rail franchise, just take it onboard but Tories sold off critical utilities wholesale - there is no cheap option - buy out the shareholders, or take them on with the debts if they go bankrupt, lands the UK with a massive bill either way.

No no. Don't start caring about the answer being right now. They're walletfillius spores as far as you're concerned. Like money fungus.
-
I don't know mate . Its just West Dean have felled huge areas of spruce recently to try to prevent the spread of the critter .
-
You reckon? Does that explain the powdery white deposits?
-
It's been said before, you are monstrously pikey. How many clients have you driven to a cashpoint this week?

Neighbour's application to cut back my tpo'd tree
LilyLangtree replied to LilyLangtree's topic in Trees and the Law
The man is aggressive, I don't want to post a photo or my location. I just thought I could get some advice on whether or not the Council would allow the tree to be cut back when there is a boundary dispute. Thank you all for replying. -
Double white stripes underneath for douglas isn't it? Similarly shit on conifers. And just trees really but you did ask.
