Porting an MS200t

I have been looking in old threads and on other forums and there seems to be a lot of mention of ported this and ported that saws. But I cannot seem to find a guide on how to actually do the porting...

I have recently bought a new ms200t and was looking at having a go at modding my old saw. I have searched the net for guides but again it just links to threads on various forums...

Does anyone have any advice on how to port an ms200t or know of a website that describes the process?

or am I best leaving it to someone who knows more about it?

any advice or pointers mucho appreciated.

cheers.

All mine are done. They fairly crackle now:thumbup1:

Its easy enough to do, I'll take some pics of mine tomorrow.

if you think its worth porting a 200t why consider buying smaller cheaper with less power than a non ported 200t:thumbdown:

Horses for courses.

My guys are going to be doing loads of small pruning works. The little saws will be ideal. For the kind of large takedowns I often do, the ported 200 is jus about powerfull enough.

I think its a good idea. I have an old one that I want to do.

Now I am a fan of mucking about with engines and aside from taking the saw out of PUWER my modifying it, doing it to an old saw is like giving your granny a pair of running shoes. She will do it but not for long.:001_smile:

Not strictly true. Ported saws last longer, as they run cooler.
