Weight of woodchip.

I was told by someones elses calcutation that 1cubic meter of fresh chip is about 500kg. Composted 1.5cubic meteres is nearly a ton.

 

My transit has a 1400kg payload but is well overload with 3-4 cube of chip.

 

I would love to know what it does weigh though

builders bags hold around 300kg of fresh chip ....230kg when mulched...

i carry 6 builders bags on my tipper

You mentioned then that your bags held 300 kg of firewood.

 

Your weights and measure assesments took a pounding that time round...:sneaky2:

 

heres one of the bags we use.. the others are the jewson builders bags, (which are shorter in height but are a wider bag.)
