Which saw

  1. 1. Which saw

Recommended Posts

Hi folks, my recent deal on a 545 went pear shaped.

I have a couple of deals lined up on the above saws

The 545 with 18 inch bar is £407 delivered

The 365 with 20 inch bar is £457 delivered

A, which is the best deal?

B, which should last the longest?

C, which would be the most reliable?, older tech v new!!!

I am leaning towards the 365 as it does not have the autotune

The 545,555 and 365 are Husqvarna's semi pro range - 50,60 or 70cc

All 3 are X-Torq and the 545 and 555 are Auto tune.

My 365 special is great for felling and cross cutting, but too heavy to use on small stuff all day.

A 545 wit an 18" will be underpowered:thumbdown:

A 365 with a 20" will be just fine, it's nearly got half as much cc's again as the 545!:thumbup1:

In my opinion a 365 xt is the best value for money saw there is at the moment. Convert it to a 372 for no pennies at all, give it a gentle exhaust mod while you're there and it'll master that 20" in good style.

It all depends on what you want, the 545 will rev faster quicker, the 365 is more restricted for what it is, and relatively speaking, in terms of tech, there isn't much between the 2. Personally I'd spend the extra £50 as the 365 can be converted into a 372 with minimal modifications, plus there are much more bits you can stick onto the saw.

In answer to question B, how good is your fuel mix, how much cutting do you do, how good is your maintenance?
