If you are really tight for cash and want some peace of mind go to your local Argos store and buy one of their petrol saws usually under £100, then take out their 3 year warranty. Use it till it breaks down (which it will) then go back and get another for free under the warranty take out the insurance again and off you go.

On the other hand if you have a little more cash buy a quality used stihl or husqvarna and never look back.

I remember when this advert started using a blank echo saw in the picture after the previous pile of junk. The saw in the picture is indeed an echo cs-420 (from memory, not a 450) with labelling removed for obvious reasons. A 420 for that money would be ace! It's not what arrives in the box though:

Talk to Spudulike on here. He normally has good condition, reliable second-hand saws for sale which will be infinitely more reliable than that piece of junk. :thumbup1:

Yes and the second hand saw I bough before broke so I have decided to go for a new one

But good idea on the 3 year warranty from the likes of B&Q Argos Wicks ecs.

Do you know if any of these micky mouse stores do 20"/22" bar saws?

As the one in the link above was only a 13"
