  1. You'd think if there 'gardners' they'd know how to deal with it , I'm kind of thinking their retirees that are flapping about something ... and they'd br gone before its even a problem.
  2. How old is the the house ? Chances are you won't have issues with the sewer as it will plastic , not clay .. Could have an accident with weed killer seens your both 'gardners'. Also are you worrying about nothing ?
  3. It knackered, arbrex is an out of date practise, if the trees no where property, leave as is ... Start planting a younger crop in front of the mature trees to take over if they fail.
  4. We have a client down the end of the road with this on a chestnut, I explained and said it needs to come out (pink chestnut) its still alive now, similar size, canopy healthy..its in there garden so they opted to leave it until it had to come out !
  5. Think the lads below have answered
  6. U just an end user or are trying to push it into sales ?
  7. Its ok , the fall off from saw Mills, some of it can be quite thin, others can be mega chunky .. Is it cheap?
  8. Poss bacterial canker of chestnut?
  9. Was only 210 per arctic load
  10. Sounds about right ,it would be Thames valley power group . Clowns on the phone ... good thing to look at a map before you send an artic my way
  11. That's a few years ago and that's if it didnt get rejected
  12. Depends , what services was it ? When I worked for kier who I don't know from anywhere i asked for money up front.. I also turned down a 50k job with them also because it would have been such a **************** about and could have made me go bankrupt ....so yeah I'm at that point where I'm not bothered about work I've either got my t&c s or il do another job that I know will pay. That's it really , and don't care 😂
  13. £21 pounds a cube for would chip, that's if they accept it at Didcot, less than 6 weeks old and couldn't have much greenery in it. Artic and bulker 21 cubic metres is the max the could take in one hit, still have to rent the yard and load the chip...that's if it doesn't get refused in Didcot.. Yes everything has a value, but its got to be financially viable . Just realised I've tagged you in it
  14. I knew of a dopey plumber who got screwed for 30k 🤣 if your nieve enough to let bills rack up on the hope of getting paid -u only have your self to blame . Also just for future reference ,doing also what you've done in the past you need to be very wary of doing, can be classed as theft and also if you book out materials knowing someone's going bankrupt it can be classed as fraud ...best thing is ask for money up front or chase them through court . Its not easy for the small people ...but just ask the idiots who supplied goods to carillon up front and never got paid .. Some people learn the hard way .
  15. Not all all ,I can tell u its the same mostly where ever I've worked .. Tree surgeons don't get it ,the quicker your off site the more money you make, they less chance you will be done for overloading in a 3.5 tonner . In respect to a so called valuable commodity, that's pointless, until logs are cut ,split , dried , delivered and monies are in your hand ,its worth f all, also don't forget the wear and tear of a saw ,just to log up oversized timber .. then going to get the shit to start with . Or may be tree surgeons need to stick with oversized bushes rather than proper trees that other firms can handle .
  16. It goes both ways, I used to supply 40yrd hook bins ,grab lorry's, skips ...for tree surgeons to load foc...we weren't picky on timber ...yet they still wanted beer tokens on top of haulage costs.. Then running a yard. Considering most tree surgeons have no yard ,no tip site, have to pay charges to dump chip or timber ...and they allready have been paid for a job.. ud think they'd be greatful to offload it onto someone ...
  17. I used to do it with building firms ,moneys in account for labour and building materials, then id start work if the job was cancelled the money was in a separate account and it could be refunded . I never got burned , rather not have the job than be screwed over or acting like a bank for clients , f that I'm not registered as a charity !!!
  18. One long length, lives with the rest of the lowering equipment, no splice or caribeener in either end
  19. Lot of factors involved..I agree with you but its not that easy
  20. Pointless now , green energy wank has pushed up the price of raw materials for firewood ..I don't know how people make living off it ? We used to do firewood but deemed it pointless 14 years ago
  21. Only ever use all round protection ...I've never had a a hit with a saw touch wood, If you don't have full protection...what's the point of wearing ppl?
  22. They are very good, I've never nicked a pair and would rather these than trousers ,I expect to be shot down soon , but I've never cut arms or wrists , and yes I've done every discipline of Arboriculture and some fair sized takedowns .. However I've seen certain guys bragging how many cuts he had on his arms at the last lv/hv induction at Berkshire was amazing he still had function of his hand . Also one former boss slipped with a sliky after saying top handles are dangerous ..9 stitches later ..they'd have stopped that . £70 a pair and they'll save the damage to your forearms. I've never needed them but should I need them there on. Dunno why the hse ,arb association (seems they like to meddle with stuff ) And utility companies don't enforce the use of them. I expect the will be some one who will winge or have a go .
