£3 amazing dougy. Can you book the lunchbox pecker and the bag pipes  in for a service while you are at it like. Thai massage and Girl chickens is not the way i can picture you  somehow, 😂

No-one touches my bagpipes, they're supposed to sound terrible.

It’s hard to keep it clean when we do what we do, and the fact that the lease is smashed as well 😂

    @Dan Maynard

I will get one in the future.

I’ve had 2 enquiries for it over night for cutting down these and some hung up trees on another property which I’m yet to see.

Not ideally what I was looking for on this picture but I’ll do it none the less

They left the hedgecutter out ready for you Jake.

Breakfast this morning doug in some cafe

How kind of you to offer Les, I'll be down in about 5hrs!

Got so many eggs from looking after my mate's hens last week I'll be dining at home, a 4 egg omelette with cheese and tomato I reckon.

    You up to much today?

  4. Morning all.

Feel for you Bob, your early start makes me feel like I wasn't up that early, thanks!

In praise of my local dealer (Border Chainsaw). They've a turnaround of 4wks currently, but in a few days and an invoice for £3 something they've got my top handle running sweet, a joy to use again, thanks guys.

    Bright and frosty here.

    Have a good one folks.

  5. Firstly I should mention Mick Dempsey, without whom wordle would be an enigma to me. I'd also like to thank the other half for her long term support while I have focused on my new found passion for wordle. I'm also grateful for the partial unemployment scenario I've put myself in which enables me to spend far too much time thinking about five letter words. But most of all I owe a debt of gratitude to our very own Steve Bullman for bringing to my attention the wonderous starting word that led to this personal victory on Wordle 1,040.

And finally can I just say a special thanks to little Cassie who often keeps my feet warm during my thinking time.

Thank you, I owe a debt of gratitude to you, one and all.

hire a turf cutter, strip it, then either top soil and reseed, or re turf

It's just recently been laid, and my telling him he should've bought a roll-a-lawn without weeds in it didn't go down well.

    Scarify & reseed?

He's done that every year since he laid turf Stere, but it's not giving the results he hopes for. Someone told him you have to dig the meadow grass out with its root but I think that's probably too much of a commitment for him.

He'd prefer something really expensive and quite toxic that he can spend ten minutes spraying on and come out the next morning to perfection.

Is your friend a lawn bowler or croqueter or something?

Not in the least, just a "must be new, laser straight and perfection in every way" type of guy. The only time he doesn't notice the insurgence of his lawn is on a Sunday morning when he jet washes a fleet of already spotlessly clean vehicles.

It's genetic, his dad is the same, at war with spider mites in his lawn, Greenthumb always there applying some treatment or other.

  9. I suspect my mate is developing psychological issues and wonder if anyone can help.

His trouble seems to be with the wrong type of grass in his lawn. It's got under his skin now and he's becoming desperate. Apparently it's annual Meadow Grass and he's tried cutting it out with little success.

I have suggested he drink another glass of gin and find something that actually matters to keep him awake at night but to no avail, so I promised I'd ask here if anyone knows the secret to instant Meadow Grass eradication.

  10. Morning all.

Woke at stupid o'clock, gave up trying to get back to sleep.

Mate's back from working in New Zealand so meeting for breakfast and off for a climb with him. Weather looking dull but hopefully dry.

    Have a good one folks.
