  1. Need contacts for Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambs for occasional larger volume timber/woodchip collection. Artic loads will be very rare so looking for smaller outfits such as Tractor w/ trailer and/or 7.5t vehicles and grab lorries etc. Will need setting up as an approved contractor prior to services. PPQ questionnaire will need to be completed (provided) with supporting documents (RAMS etc). Please let me know if you can help. Kind Regards, Jonny. RFT Services.
  2. The technology will change all the time and I think purchasing will become pointless. Leasing may be the new norm in years to come providing “older” vehicles are recycled correctly.
  3. We are now bringing them in for RFT and Flagship. They’re mostly Hybrids (with the exception of a few fully EV) at the moment but my understanding from fleet is that there’s big tax incentives. I won’t be surprised if they push for a full EV fleet (minus commercial) within the next 8 years. I’m just hoping Rivian release their EV pickup by the time the lease runs out on my truck.?
  4. Press “print screen” if you’re on a laptop and then paste image into “Paint” save and send.
  5. Well that was the best and most insightful answer I’ve received in a long time. Thank you.
  6. Just went to see one of my closest friends who bought me a Christmas present. A nice tree for my garden. I did ask him if I’ve ever done anything wrong in the past to hurt his feelings...
  7. No offence taken. I’m often wrong and try to learn from mistakes but my original answer stemmed from the trees size compared to its location. Judging from the picture I would say there’s 9m to the closest property and the impact of the removal of this tree would be tiny. I would also hazard a guess that the tarmac is durable enough at this point to accommodate any further movement in the future after the stump is treated. There’s also a neighbouring tree (maybe Ash?) that may regulate moisture content of the soil over time. But, I was unaware of the 12.5m zone of influence. Could this be the case for the tree in question considering it relatively small size?
  8. I was once told “The two most important things are your bed and your boots” which in turn gave me enough of an excuse to finally shell out for a pair of these...not like I needed much persuasion in the first place though. £283 from Footwear Country and it’s worth every penny providing they last as long as my step fathers pair which is 6 years.
  9. Treated myself to a pair of Irish Setters for work. Will only be wearing them for VTAs and Aerial Inspections. As they’re not certified for Arb. 600g of insulation and a goretex surround making them very waterproof. Comfortable and very lightweight too.
  10. I wouldn’t be so concerned about the soil. Its demand on water will be relatively small compared larger species of tree that can cause issues with clay soil. The tarmac damage from the roots seems pretty minor too. It’s not even lifted it enough to crack thus later creating a trip hazard. My suggestion... Have the tree removed and perhaps request the stump to be treated. Eco Plugs containing glyphosate can be an efficient and effective method for the tree to absorb the chemical preventing regrowth. Be sure they are inserted as close to the outer, softer and sappy layer to allow the transport of chemical back down to the roots. No further works should be required. Kind Regards,
  11. Welcome.
  12. Carrie, you may find that this is 1 - 2 days of work with a lot of transporting of timber. The pay out for the timber is relatively small compared to what’s involved when removing the tree. This kind of job offer is normally a joke that circulates through the Arb community so you may find a bit of backlash and not finding the answer you need.
  13. Before I got my first works truck I used to use my T6. I never had 4motion but it had some serious grunt with the 204psi block. Lovely van to use, I miss being able to sharpen my saws under cover of the tail lift.
  14. I’m sticking with Bay. Good screening, quick growing, pretty hardy and ultimately easy to keep on top of.
  15. Nice one @richy_B. Good to hear. I have an update that will automatically add signatures once the RAMS is completed. I will upload when I’ve ironed out the coding a bit more.
  16. Ah I see. I’ve changed the fleet except one transit we abuse which is running a 7 pin hook up otherwise everything else is running 13 pin now. The only problem I’ve had with a 13 pin was on the Hilux as it seems to have a bad connection. Other than that, all been fine.
  17. All my trailers and chippers are 13 pin.
  18. Yeah, I'm not actually bothered, everyone makes mistakes and they were pretty "on it" when they realised they had forgotten some bits. I've just notice I don't have any ladder stops on the rear crossbar either DAMMIT!
  19. 7 pin fitted instead of 13 hook up and they forgot to fit the 1000mm hinged roof return
  20. New truck turned up today and I was very excited but then not so excited when I had refuse it due to 2 discrepancies. CHRISTMAS IS RUINED!
  21. Seems legit and he definitely won’t claim the money back through PayPal.
  22. The Protos Arborist is super comfortable.
  23. Same, It’s making rolling cigarettes almost impossible.
  24. Hopefully this all works properly. Let me know. Again, everything can be changed or modified. Site Spec, Risk Assessment, Method Statement - Blank for External Use v2.xlsx
