Thanks @Stubby. Really appreciate the feedback and glad you had fun with it. They’re an awesome saw with some machining and port work. Just raw power. A 13” bar is just bonkers though 😂😂

no, it was another customers. I like to know what oil goes in the saws too. That and the price of premix puts me off using it. I also hate the smell 😂 i think the way you run your saws is proof that good oil goes a long way!

i would say it probably removes the oil film. If I was to use it I’d say use 4 with your own oil but that’s just my opinion. I use super unleaded and HP super. Don’t have any issues. I don’t see the need for alkylate fuel but again that’s my opinion.

There was no issue with either of these saws. I put the photos up to show the comparison with both types of fuel / mixes.

😂 that’s probably the case. It’s the bottom end that bothers me. Doesn’t look like it gets enough oil. Def cleaner burn though.

I thought I’d share a few photos of a couple of saws I tore down, for port work, a while back. Two Husqvarna 572xps. One ran on Aspen’ one ran on Super unleaded and Moto 800 at 50:1.

I’ll be honest I wouldn’t use cheap oil in anything. Good quality fuel and oil is worth the extra money.

I don’t use Stihl ultra for the same reasons as is mentioned on that YouTube video. I use E5 fuel and Stihl HP super. I’ll let you know what the pistons like when I pull it apart but I’m pretty sure it’ll be coated like the one in the vid. I have pics of inside two cylinders, both the same saws. One ran on aspen’ and one on two stroke mix. I’ll find the pics and post them soon. I’m not a fan of aspen’ (personal preference) but it certainly burns cleaner. My only issue with it was the bottom end looked dry.

The 194 is a bit different. It’s a clamshell crank case / cylinder set up. It can be ported but can’t be machined the same so the gains aren’t as good because I can’t build more compression into it. I am looking at experimenting with one to see what’s the best out it but for now I would suggest a muffler mod and ignition advance. That’ll give it a bit more power. Well I suppose it depends whether you want a smaller saw to cut bigger wood or a faster cutting saw for more efficiency. Or if you just simply want a saw that puts a smile on your face every time you use it. If you don’t want any of these things, then no it’s not worth it. 😂
