  7. ebays the best place to see what price to sell them for. just look at sold listings. some used saws are doing daft money. I can supply new 3 series saws if you're interested.
  8. that and full Rab outfit 🤣
  9. yeah 3x3 for contractors and 2x3 for a lot of the operators. unless youre on a shell asset. theyre all on 2x3. dont get me wrong not everyone is on £400 but a welding inspector would be. a few NDT quals and a rope ticket will get you £360 if you have some experience. IRATA level 3s are in shortage too.
  10. yeah it was. now they cant get enough people with skills.
  11. Yes. money is back up in the north sea. especially if you have a trade. Welding inspectors get paid good money. not as much regular work as you might be as a welder or rope access welder.
  12. he's right. NDT would be the way to go. get a welding inspection ticket and your BOSIET and you can go earn £400 a day offshore. Or weld offshore and get around the same money. then do tree work in your time off and have no worries about the financial impact. if you want top go down that route build the business while working offshore.

yeah that will def cause running issues. take the mesh out and clean it in brake cleaner then blow it out with an air hose. give the carb a clean too. carb kits are only around £13 from L&S. if you've got a pressure tester then test it once you've rebuilt it. they can leak sometimes around the cover plates. the also need a wee drop of fuel in them to seal properly.
  15. if you're using a hyway piston buy OEM wrist pin circlips and either caber or OEM piston rings. I've seen hyway circlips and rings snap and wreck saws. if its meant to have two rings leave them in. taking one out will not give you any benefits and can make the piston slightly more unstable as the top ring sits slightly higher than it would if there was only one.
  16. There’s always a way

Can have one built for you in march 😂👌🏻
  18. No. I import and sell all these types of saws. I’ll need to double check the price as I’ve not been asked for one in a while but it should be £1650+vat. Power head only. No bar and chain.
  19. Ah ok. Yeah I can’t get one of them. That will be worth a fortune 😂
  20. Looking good man 👌🏻
  21. I can get CS1201s 👍 I can also get 070s and I have a lead on genuine 090 cylinders. So can be converted. Just needs a clutch, which I have.
  22. Yes / no / no / maybe / no / no 😂
  23. I think the newer saws get some bad feedback sometimes for having electronic carbs when actually they’re a great feature. The majority of issues are still down to basic things on the saw rather than the carbs. It’s the dealers that are at fault when they just want to throw a carb at it and don’t actually check the saw over properly. I’ve seen it too many times. Mtronic and Autotune have come a long way. I like how they will adapt to port work. It’s pretty impressive. There’s something to be said about old school saws that have more grunt and a different power. It’s all preference.
