  1. I have the opposite problem. I've advertised on here for work a couple of times but never had any response. I've recently qualified, bought all my own kit and am very keen to work within this industry. I was taken on with a local guy but he wanted me to work for £8.25 ph and work 10.5 to 11.5 hrs a day
  2. Hi, I'm looking for work in and around the Plymouth area. Have all my own kit
  3. So I've been offered 2 private jobs and would like some advice if possible. Both have similar circumstances where neighbouring properties have trees that encroach on the customer's property (one to the point it is touching the house) Where do the customer's and I stand with chopping limbs back?
  4. Hi Riich, where are you based? Sent from my SM-G955F using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. I forgot to mention I also built a 3 bedroom house so can turn my hand to most things if anyone is looking for more versatile staff Sent from my SM-G955F using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. I've recently been doing a level 3 arb course with Lyhner. So far I've passed my tree felling & cross cutting, tree climbing & aerial rescue and chipper. I've got other courses booked and I also have 2 years worth of funding left. I have all my own kit, first aid trained and I have my class 1 lorry licence meaning I can tow anything! Ideally looking for full time work based in or around the Plymouth area Sent from my SM-G955F using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Slightly off topic but I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread but what is the best cleaner for a chainsaw? Mine is covered in sap
  8. Spud, is the porting to increase power/performance? I have a brand new 550xp, is it worth porting?
  9. So, I start my transition to a career in Tree surgery on Monday as I'm starting my NPTC course. By the 4th of September I will have, amongst others, Tree felling & Cross cutting, Chipper, Climbing, Aerial Cutting & Rescue. Now the question I have is, would it be better for me to start off in full time employment with a company or subcontract?
  10. As easy as that? Thank you silky
  11. So I'm about to start my tree surgery course on Monday, I've been sent a kit list and for my climbing section I need whiptails. I've Googled it and no joy other then kinky whips. I don't mind a bit of S&M but I'm sure my PVC chaps won't provide any chainsaw protection [emoji12] Any thoughts on what they are? Sent from my F8331 using Arbtalk mobile app
  12. Does anybody know if its cheaper to buy saws/equipment in mainland Europe? I'm driving to France in August and not sure if I should wait for any more kit I will need
  13. Its listed as a mk2. Its from a website called The Groundcare centre
  14. Thanks again. Does anybody know a cheaper price than £547
  15. Thanks for the advice. So my next question, which bar would be better 12" or 14"? I've sourced the saw online and the 14" is only £7 dearer. Would that be the wise move?
  16. I've just bought a new husky 550xp for my arb course. As I'm also doing climbing and aerial cutting I'm looking at a top handle saw. My current option are either a husqvarna t540 XP or a husqvarna t536 li XP? Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated
