  1. Ridiculous price, just been quoted a quarter of that to remove multiple tall ash stems which will require climbing. Includes chipping brash and leaving logs. Have used this guy before he is professional, running his own business and not short of work. Get some more quotes.
  2. Some landlords don't care, some tenants don't care. We care, that's it, nothing special about it, it's just what we do. If more people cared the world would be a better place.
  3. I used a high temp sealant - been in 6-7 years no problems at all.
  4. Couldn't agree more never could see the point of this and still can't.
  5. When we had vandalism in our wood Police were happy to use photos from our trail cameras. Didn't get to court as offenders identified and parents paid for damage and youngsters wrote individual apologies. They still had a visit from the law pointing out how lucky they were not to end up in court.
  6. Really? and if there are no private landlords who is going to house those who can't afford to buy or don't want to? Councils haven't got anything. I've had people in tears because they are within weeks of being homeless and yes we did house them. We've reduced rents when tenants have been having problems, fed pets and cleaned houses when they've been rushed into hospital to mention just a few things. Have you heard of capital gains tax? Yes the government does have a lot of any increase in value. We're not all money grabbers, some of us actually care believe it or not.

Find most are good for me, helpful in leaving parcels safely if we're not about. Only one I don't find very good are Evri who have a bad reputation in the Rushden area. Always make sure I have a brief word with them to see how their day is going and sympathetic noises if required.
  8. Bear in mind home owner is still resposible for the length of drain from their property until it connects to the shared drain. Flats are generally connected to a common drain then going to public sewer, owner of the building is responsible for drains with in property boundary. Sewers and drains explained | United Utilities WWW.UNITEDUTILITIES.COM Helping to explain responsibility for sewers and drains
  9. This is surely what happens with pre-planning advice currently? Don't think anyone TO or planners would actually be writing the application.
  10. As a landlord yes they should be and I certainly would resolve this. Also I would be pissed if my tenants started bringing contractors in to do work on the structure of my properties without my prior approval.
  11. Spark Arrestor fell off my 450e Husky, first I knew was back of my hand getting very hot and part of top cover had melted. Fixed under warranty. So if it's getting hot the cause of that heat i.e. sparks will go to the next part in line whatever that is.
  12. In my days in the steelworks used to work on the overhead cranes at 90ft+ without batting an eyelid. Didn't like the lime bay crane though as access was by walkway which went over the crane which was at 110ft so walkway must have been 130ft. Like you Eggs it had open grills which wasn't good. Only time I felt bad with heights was on a ski lift in Aviemore - the open two seater type of thing. Funnily enough the Mrs who hates heights was ok with that.
  13. The 2005 series was epic as well.

That's exactly what happens, some years ago we supplied cables to LDV and when they went bust administrators invited us in to reclaim items we had not been paid for.
  15. Not an Elton fan at all but after a slow start I thought he was pretty good certainly drew a crowd who seemed to be loving it.
  16. That's the trouble 60/70 years old rock stars haven't got it any more - bit like old arborists! LOL
  17. Friend's 8 year old daughter helped with egg collecting from hens. Passed her the first newly laid one and she screamed her head off because it was warm! Fortunately she at least didn't drop it
  18. No and that's why I'd never win the One Per Cent Club!
  19. So a higher rating than Ultra but many would consider Wickes Oil cheapo nasty stuff. My Jap Ranger is at 190K miles and counting ran almost exclusively on supermarket diesel with no issues despite dire warnings from many. I buy oil on spec not 'name'.
  20. This. Had a boundary query, not a dispute, Land registry sent surveyor out with GPS very accurate. All sorted no problem.
  21. When we took over our wood contractor already on site clearing windblow, moving artic loads out. Then we visited wood early one morning to find they were selling unknown to us to a local small sawmill for fencing using flatbeds. They didn't even try to bluff their way out of it just complained that we had gone there early which the previous owner never did! They were off the site promptly.
  22. hawthorn has been very good here too.
  23. What gets me is that people fawn over these creeps as if they're god's gift and often those in a position to do something don't presumably because of ratings/money. Even after Saville, Harris, Glitter etc the same sort of story repeats. Wonder how many other 'stars' are lurking out there doing the same thinking they've got away with it?
