  1. Bruce was quite entertaining at least.
  2. Good point. 'Cause he is orange'. That's better
  3. I'm looking at something to go in the loft - air-con, Dehumidifier or MVHR, the delay is not being convinced which system yet - but will be something up there eventually.
  4. Moisture in the house.... cooking steam, showers, baths, breathing, poorly ventilated gas boilers, gas hob, The Boys spilling -more- juice, damp and wet shoes and jackets, washing machines, dish washers, tumble driers, pot plants - err- indoor plants, washing laminate floors... in a well sealed house all increase moisture vapour and can increase it above ambient outdoor vapour. In the winter outside air can dry - colder it holds less water, inside air, warmer, can hold more moisture... which can turn to condensation when it hits cold surfaces. Anecdotal from me but putting the bedroom fire on upstairs draws more air in (both stoves burning), more air changes in the house and drier indoor air. Older houses were designed to be leaky, gas appliances could be less well designed, open fires were more common needing the air flow. Modern houses without the open fires and better vented (outside vents!) boilers means they can be better sealed... and then can cause a problem with an after market stove... not enough air flow. Windows have to have trickle vents in them because all the leaks are too well sealed. However if (and when) I change the stove I'll be putting in an external air supply for it even with a leaky house. Next job however is an air con / dehumidifier for the bathroom
  5. However politically, any republican would be doing the same thing, and would also probably also be elected. Biden was an easy obstacle to overcome in the election, age playing against him, Harris joined too late in the game... so even without Trump (rapist, sex offender... you know the rest), US politics would be going down the same path... but without rewarding a criminal who appears to be where he is cause he is white and can throw a lot of money at making things "disappear"
  6. I'm not disputing how they voted, never have. I am disputing what I perceive to people adoring a rapist, serial sex abuser, voyeur, apologist for a child rapist and sex trafficker (and financial crimes) that he is a good man. He is not.
  7. As opposed to the President bestie of Epstein?
  8. Diverging from the POTUS thread.... because there is nothing going on over there today at all.... This has always confused me, how being called 'woke' is a bad thing. "This person over there cares about other people, the imbecile, all normal people, like me, don't care, why should we" to me is not a healthy society. Nothing in the definition about positive discrimination, or negative discrimination whichever way you look at it. Take people on their merits based on all being equal. However the 'woke' being used as an insult I think stems from people answering back and saying 'so what'... to which the BS merchants such as ... well anyone on GB news it appears... are trying to justify themselves "no it is not abut respecting all people, it is more than that"... when the definition... as above.. it is. They have a great problem accepting that all people can thrive in society based on their strengths, and go to great lengths to subjugate some, to keep them down with insults, to sell an agenda that all people are worthy, just some are more worthy than others. Anyway, back to the US, anything good happening over there today?
  9. DEI... that's a new one... is that added when people jump back in and say, yes, compassion is not a bad thing. I am not sure however how you earn compassion, a desire for equality and with a non-racist view of the world.
  10. Wise words.
  11. woke: aware, especially of social problems such as racism and inequality: I don't think that is a problem for me. However my mornings post has nothing to do with that.
  12. Bigging up The Rapist! Love it,
  13. ... 5 hours later for a headline to update us on a news story, but isn't really creating a spark for a discussion. I left you a post to comment as is your way, quite happy to read your contrary discussion to what I say (as is also your way).
  14. For Tate, he was under house arrest which is like in the UK being remanded in custody.... which they only do if the police are pretty sure they'll secure a conviction or are sure the accused will abscond, run away. Since Tate is a massive egotist, I think running away and hiding isn't a consideration... so the police there I think are pretty sure of a strong case against him. Reading into his past and allegations against him, to be accused of rape once is perhaps bad luck, but to have 35 accusations of rape against you (including children)... suggests to me that there is something in there. Not really a man any human could defend.... lawyers will but their ethics will be driven by money.
  15. Apart from the fuel I try to give my small machines a run every month or so, the ones that are not heavily used won't have an effect on lifespan to all purposes, and the ones I use all the time are used at least once a month anyway. Then empty the fuel (actually, usually half a tank in the first, emptied into the 2nd and so on). Had a few second hand machines, never used for years that take a bit of work to start up, I find this helps.
  16. I'm looking at it as a sluice gate on the left. To the right appears to be a dug channel maintaining a level - water take off, to the left the stream drops. Could be a mill race, canal water or something... and the dug channel could be quite lengthy to get a head of water if required to drive machinery further on. On the right the channel has filled over time and on the left with the active stream the water has kept that channel open.
  17. Wow - are you trying to defend another alleged rapist?
  18. I'd be guessing that the settings are to comply with the worst case - softwoods. Else the stove manufacturer would need to ensure compliance works with either and a variable setting of primary air - which I don't think they could do.
  19. There is a bloke round this way too, has been moved on after a few years and the site cleared... about 10 days work for 6 men (£1k a day?+ plus kit, waste disposal etc) clearing the site. Started out as just a few bags of stuff here and there till it was too much and the environment people got involved. You'd be surprised how much waste a site can hold!
  20. I'd be digressing but would be intrigued to know anyone who feeds themselves through hunting (perhaps with some wild plant collection thrown in) anything more than 50% of the time in the UK. Sure the odd deer, some rabbits, birds but to do it for any more than a nice to have every now and then?
  21. All I can see there is "500 million+ members"... speaking of members, Morning!
  22. Thanks. About doubled? That's a huge jump.
  23. I don't have guns but am curious what the costs were before? Second question, have they been increased year after year or is this the first increase in ages? The figures above sound a lot for a check that the doctors note is valid, a quick call and some paperwork... but were they a lot last time the prices were increased too?
  24. "Is that some kind of joke" The deal in Gaza is of course the one put forward and negotiated by Qatar along the framework put forward by Biden and his team
