  1. Gareth, are you on a wind up this morning?! Truss entering a social media market when the competition is Musk and Trump, I can see this as the fastest way she can bankrupt herself.
  2. Reckon most firms will have their full time staff sorted but will want occasional extra hands on larger jobs - they have to still pay the wages if there is no work though. Might be you need to get your name out there and take the odd job here and there to build a reputation as reliable. Never easy switching careers where you are competing with everyone with limited experience on their CV. If you took up the firm offers of days here and there, how many days a month would that give you? Are you also able to stick at your current job till you get an opportunity you want? Final thing, I guess you have looked at the employment threads here. Might be you put your details in there, include stuff like how far you can travel to work ('Sussex' - but is that the whole county, is it the neighbouring ones or is it just your town you can get to)... the more details that can help the better.
  3. Bundle of laughs your holiday is turning out to be if you think that posting on a social forum the meaning of "Eye for an Eye" is a great use of your family time. Still each to their own.
  4. ... and so on one of the most important weekends of the Christian calendar, Jesus dies, comes back to life, basis of all blind faith stuff, JD Vance pops over to the Vatican - HQ of a lot of the Christian types - for talks on immigration to the US. Just thinking how 'blind faith' escaped him and perhaps 'blind' is more apt where I reckon a lot of the priests he met might just have other things on, quite a busy weekend at the end of quite a busy week. Over Vance pops, oblivious to culture and apparently his own faiths calendar. Or just having a pleasant Easter Weekend and trying to make the tax payer pick up the bill. Cultural wasteland in his brain.
  5. Can't remember last US president where there were protests on the streets like Trumpy is getting... especially after only 3 months in the job 'Trump must go now': Thousands join protests across US UK.YAHOO.COM STORY: ::Thousands of protesters rally across the U.S. to oppose the Trump administration's policies::April 19, 2025::Washington, D.C."Due process, that’s the first thing they...
  6. B&Q jobbie is about 10 years old, Mountfield about 20 - there is a noticeable increase in quality
  7. If that is where they committed their crimes then yes. By way of examples: If for example I got convicted of a crime in say, Brazil - believing the TV the jail time is not so nice as it is in the UK, should I be returned to the UK, closer to home, closer to family, to a cell that is designed for 2, houses 2 (and not 8 in a 2 bed cell ) - should I be returned to the UK for a cushy jail time? Or should I suffer they same as any locals convicted of the same? How about if I accidentally flew into Bangkok with 1kg of class A drugs - mandatory death sentence - but as a UK citizen should I be returned home and not face their justice where as everyone else doesn't ? Or of they flew into the UK with the same should we send them to Bangkok to meet their justice? So if the crime is committed in the country, then yes, the punishment should be taken in that country and not be sent away where justice, punishment and tariffs for crimes don't match the host countries morals.
  8. Them as well? He is annoying a few folk isn't he (yesterday, forgot to post, a big demonstration in New York against his leadership)
  9. Was giving the lawnmower its annual clean (makes me feel better for ignoring maintenance the rest for the year). Anyway, remembering this thread, took the spark plug out and likewise it's covered in soot. Tomorrow might do the same again - todays was £100 B&Q job, tomorrows is Mountfield so 2 ends of the scale in terms of quality. Anyway, a thought, these mowers (4 stroke) are stopped by stalling the engine - release handle, brake goes on, stalls engine - reasonably unique to mowers, most other engines are stopped by cutting the electricity supply to the spark plug? Not sure if that accounts for soot on the spark plug? - if still fuel in the chamber it might ignite (maybe not explode) but without the engine moving, no exhaust cycle, soot is retained in the engine ?? Just a thought though I am not an expert, it jut struck me as odd that mine is the same condition
  10. Good recovery!
  11. You're sat there quality time with your family and your thoughts are turning to UK asylum seekers and posting the news report on a UK forum. So either they are not enthralling you or you are not enthralling them for you to be that bored. Serious advice here, enjoy the break, the time with the family, they are only young once. Put the internet away, put your feet up and talk rubbish to the kids, make stupid dad jokes even if they are nearly 30... build memories you want them to have and not the memory of "dad was just stuck on his phone all trip". Your ridiculous political agenda can wait another week, we'll still be there but you won't be in the US next week... so serious advice... and same to all who read this... put the internet away and interact with the family IRL.
  12. That would be a hefty Rowan!
  13. I think if profit is the game then they could splash out £80 on a mains chainsaw, and the same again on some safety kit, cut into lengths as firewood, split it to double the money. Not firewood, split logs of course so as not to fall foul of any ready to burn schemes. Reckon £15 a car boot load would see it go over the summer for the most, but also the most work and hassle. You could ring it up to firewood lengths, be quicker than them but could you do that for £150 or whatever they'd pay for the saw etc. Reading around on the forum here, if someone would take them they are not going to pay what they would for the same from a forest - garden washing lines and nails premium will be deducted.
  14. Comprehension still not your thing then.... you are on your holidays such with your barrel of laughs family that rather then their time you are all over this forum like a rash.
  15. Noting that terrorism laws and updates make it easier to prosecute if the perpetrator is a 'terrorist' and not just a 'murder'
  16. Jeso, your family must be a bunch of laughs if this is the highlight of the first day of your holidays.
  17. I've seen a similar clip where they were digging up the road in high vis and Nike trainers
  18. Disgusted with you Sime42, reposting the image as I read this at the breakfast table with the morning papers, you should have warned us
  19. In New York... a bastion of Trump support if ever there was one. Mind you don't forget to ask the cabbies and shop keepers what their thoughts are, and do please send us a pic of the tourist tat shops full of MAGA merch (Made in China of course - you'd better check that before you buy, and I know you will). Oh, I'd suggest you treat Mavis and the kids to something nice after landing there and jumping straight onto a Forum, I can only imagine the conversation in the taxi "Hey, JohnsonD, that's the Empire State Building", "Yeah, yeah, but that SP needs to be told doesn't he" "Yeah, but JohnsonD, Central park by night!" "Yes, But look here, just got to comment about St George, I've seen Central Park on Friends, no need to look now"
  20. Oooh, pissy tonight muchly? So in order: Rape Gangs: You can level that at any member here, only JohnsonD brings those stories to the 'Making the New Today' thread, a wee obsession of his. Only however if the accused are Muslims. Weirdly silent on the Glaswegian gang sentenced this week (He did reply to a comment I made, but otherwise ignored that) - this gang was reported to be the worst case ever... but all whites and so not on JohnsonDs radar. I wonder why. Weirdly silent on the 86% of gangs who aren't Muslims as well. Odd. Tommy Robinson: 1 reason he is in jail, contempt of court for repeatedly breaching a court order. Simple. Credibility to your idolisation of The Rapist: Answer me this - asked before, and never got an answer. If Mr Trump was sitting in your local boozer, would you stay and socialise, or would you do like any right minded man would do and drink somewhere not tainted by the bestie of a child rapist, who promoted known paedos to his cabinet? would he be welcome in your house for dinner? You sir, cannot see past the orange glow to the man underneath. The man underneath who sees no ills with rich men dong anything they want is not gong to look out for the poor men he is meant to lead. His base characteristics shape his presidential style. Rasism: Look to all the Making the News todays stories you have posted. Ignore the "Daily Starmer" stories where anything that the Labour party do is bad be default, and now count all the negative stories where the perpetrator is white... it won't take long or many fingers. Factually correct however massively racially biased as t what you post and link to... and thinking of linked to.. linked in... have a quick look through who you follow there and perhaps google their name and "links to racism" if you still don't believe me. So a few words there. I am expecting the big man response of a well thought out insult.
  21. 5 hours ago, Steven P said: We all know that "there is a difference between radical Islam and your everyday practising Muslim", Robinson doesn't. All the same to him They were your words you tool. All the anger, hate and vitriol you show there, right back at you.
  22. Digressing from the Trump and into defending JohnsonDs racism which is a subject dear to his heart - you'll be here for hours reading the tripe that he types. He is finding it harder and harder to defend his idol, the rapist, serial impeached, failed businessman and apologist for several paedophiles and child rapists, multiple bankrupt (and causing those he owes to also be bankrupt) and headliner of this thread... and yet, JohnsonD would still have him around for dinner, however finding it more tricky to defend his idolism on here. Defending his racism is easier. Feed the Troll if you like.
  23. No it is just Muslims he has a beef with. Generally Muslims who are not the same skin colour as he is, and with that in mind, yes, racist. We all know that there is a difference between radical Islam and your everyday practising Muslim, Robinson doesn't. All the same to him
  24. There is however a massive difference 'stirring things up' and visiting a forum to throw out the insults without any meaningful discussion. On this thread you might like to compare say, GarethM and JohnsonD. Politically I agree with neither. I know I shouldn't name check however will do for the point of discussion. GarethM is able and does hold a discussion together most of the time, which I think is why no one has ever levelled the "how about you give it a break for a while" line at him. He can succinctly make continue a thread without throwing out insults in his second post of the day makes for a discussion and 'stirring things up' as it were. However JohnsonD has shown to be incapable of continuing a discussion past a single post, afterwards for the 2nd and subsequent post just throws out insults to all and everyone.. That is not a discussion, that is not stirring things up. So as far as I can tell Sime42 post was nothing to do with the content of any continuing discussion, his comment was related to the continuous steam of insults coming from JohnsonDs keyboard.
