  1. That's sooo French. Every Sunday. Gimps. [emoji51]
  2. Serial killers hah! Keep scrolling down to the top ten list of psychopaths. They are in control. [emoji51]
  3. Years ago when I started my firewood business in France, I used a large axe in my left hand and a sledge hammer in my right to split logs. After a year or so the axe and hammer were badly mushroomed but the sledgehammer had started to break and split as well. Firing tiny bits of shrapnel randomly. That's when I learned to make BIG mallets. Metal on metal not good. [emoji106]
  4. I love the idea of no mot, but doing 70 in a vehicle which might fall apart at any moment really puts me off. [emoji51]
  5. Arse. Keep an eye on Friday ads and local car boots.
  6. Difflock , Truth be told, I spent 9 years working with chainsaws before taking my tickets. So I understand where you're coming from. Especially after seeing the other guys on the course who'd never used a saw before. Scary. [emoji106]
  7. Where did you get your tickets? A bus conductor? [emoji23][emoji12]
  8. You own a woodland too? Get a 70cc saw, stihl 461 or husky 72. You'll need a 25" bar minimum. Helmet boots trousers gloves, Combi can ,felling bar, wedges, winch, ropes etc. Spare bar and chains, filing kit. Mix oil and chain oil. A couple of grand should do it. Then it's about £750 for a course to use the saw safely. Way better than getting a pro to do it. [emoji12]
  9. Thanks for your advice guys. All sorted now. Thank you mr billpierce. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]
  10. Wise words mate, [emoji106]
  11. Has anyone got an old harness they'd be willing to part with? Starting to learn to climb, Can't afford any more kit right now. [emoji106]
  12. Just have, nearly ruptured a rib. It's art?! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  13. Anyone heard about the drug warning in Yorkshire? Apparently there's a new dance drug doing the rounds. It's like ecstasy, but in a gel form. You rub it round your teeth. It's called, "E by gum" [emoji106]
  14. Video not available ☹️
  15. Good 1st attempt mate. [emoji106] You've got a roller mill, so you have to brush all sawdust out the way or the round bars ride up and your cut is duff. 075's are great saws, very torquey. But as you've discovered very shaky. You can get a Chinese made Alaskan for about £100-£130. Surprisingly you can still get a lot of oem parts as they are nearly identical to the 051 which is still in production.
  16. Have you guys seen the video on YouTube of three men bending the side door of a transit in half in under 30 seconds with no tools. Scary
  17. Tuesday-Friday free next week.
  18. What's the disadvantages to lo pro? 20% is a lot less sawdust [emoji3][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] I just get standard stihl full chisel 404 and then carefully grind to 0 degrees. Then lower the rakers to about 0.9mm Never tried any skiptooth before as I haven't found a need. What do you mean by "larger"? 1m+, 2m+ [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  19. A good article Robd. "Chainsaw lumbermaking" By Will Maloff is also an informative read for new and old alike. It's readily available on tinternet. What's the kerf of these modern lo pro ripping chain and bar setups? 404 is about 10mm
  20. Thanks Mick, It was under a big log pile. [emoji106]
  21. 404 full chisel 0 degrees Been using it for years! Makes the cleanest cuts. The only thing which cuts better is 3/8 full chisel!
  22. Spud, you previously mentioned porting an 880, Any videos? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  23. Love to see a video of it cutting? [emoji106]
