  3. Ok, I need to make a decision buy the end of the day and I have got few options all for used saws. I will be using the saw occasionally only for milling odd trees and in the future to build small lean to woodland shelter subjected to planning permission. From the list below which one you will go for. 1-stihl 880 with 50 inch bar 750 2-Husky 3120 with 42 and 50 bar for 700 3- Sthil 076 with 36 bar 350 4- stihl 0845 with very long bar 60 inch still waiting for the price, has been asked to make an offer but not sure how much they worth so need help. 5-stihl 660 with 36 bar 350 This will be my first milling experience.

  6. Nice video but it will not apply to my question. The tree in the question is in my woodland and I am able to fell it myself. I ask about the value because I don't know how much an oak tree worth I do have another similar trees in my wood and wanted to know in the future I fell 10-20 oak and replant the area how much I can get. My wood has been neglected for long time and sooner it will need to be thinned.
  7. I did buy this one from Amazon when they were discounted at 350 and I wanted one urgently within 24 hour to deal with two small wind blown trees fell in the field next to our wood. It was delivered with Amazon within 24 hour, was surprised as it was delivered at 9 pm by a man in a privat car so Amazon must have new way of delivery. I am not expert but it is for me very good saw but can be heavy after few hours.

  9. Why? Was it decayed or just the impact pf the fall.
  10. Here is a different picture, I don't know if I call this coppice But what they have done is cut the branches partially and let the fall to the gound something like hedge laying but I believe this was done when she wood for phasent breeding. This picture was taken middle of February.

  12. I thought they are hazel but this because I am no expert and I used to hear the two wards together coppice + Hazel. Will wait for leaves and flowers to show.
  13. We have several in our wood. Farmer told me they are Beech But I am not sure if they are.
  14. Thanks Alec. Really appreciate your help. I have measure it at my chest level and I am 172 cm tall. No extraction needed as it is just few meters from the gate which a cross A road.

  16. How much does this Oak tree worth. Crown is balanced with no fork Circumference is 250 cm. and it is near road side. May need to take it dawn to widen the wood access.

  19. Hi I am looking for used chainsaw to use with my 36 Alaskan mill. It is for occasional use only. I had a look on the bay and there are few options but I am worried about buying saw from there. Is there any dealer who sellers used saws or shall I try my luck with ebay. Will be looking at 90 cc or above with 30-36 bar.
