  12. Hello chaps, After a great response to my last plea for a dining table sized slab (although i never found one), it did lead to me finding some lovely pieces of wood from Clive on here. I'm back trying to search for another. Ideally after something 900mm + in width dry flat (ish) 2m + long 30mm + in thickness with two natural edges I would love some Walnut ideally and I am aware that will come at a premium and whilst I don't want to spend a fortune, I am willing to spend some decent dosh on the right piece of timber. I'm located in Buckinghamshire but happy to travel for the right piece of wood. Many thanks
  13. This glue is what you need - Woolies Trim - Heat Resistant Adhesive An automotive retrimmer i know uses it for exactly that.
  14. Forstner bits!
  15. That is awesome!
  16. I've sent you a PM! Thanks
  17. Cheap coca cola works. If not find a rust removal gel or spray that people use on car parts. Something like Iron - X will work, be warned it stinks!
  18. Can you clear you inbox bud, trying to PM you
  19. 2 metres minimum really. Yeah thats a fair point, . Based in Berkshire! Thanks
  20. Hello chaps, I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction for people selling 80 cm wide + slabs to make a table top out of. I'm aware what I'm after is something with character/ waney edge but other than that I know very little about wood/ where to purchase other than the few guys I've seen online. Walnut would be awesome but seeing th online prices might be out of budget Elm/ oak would be great, something with a lot of character If anyone could give me any guidance it would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  21. I'm surprised to come on an aborists forum and actually be able to answer a question, considering I'm just looking for a couple of big slabs and know nothing about wood. It's really acidic and whats usually left behind is known as 'etching' quite simply etched the top layer of your cars lacquer. Are you sure its lifted the paint entirely, that would be pretty rare. If its just etched it it should be polishable.
