going to bore a hole in each end to hook into from the 4 hook sling. each of the 4 arms of the chain are rated at 1t. nice and adjustable for blocks/bricks/tiles etc. Allways lose some tiles when just using strops through the pallet.

what a top idea. off to get the cutter out and prune the scaff on our site....
  6. Was having a mull over our new wood, and got me to thinking how people make a wage from a very slow growing product. How does it work exactly, a acre of trees would return £x per year after x years of producing zero as the wood matures. What is X ? Sawmills - is it the good old 4x2 us builders use that it the bread and butter of these operations ? we only use set lengths so must mean a lot of trees not big enough are scrapped ? The biomass heaters look like a good emerging market for chip, I was watching an old WW2 documentary the other day and one of the jap tortures was to stake a poor sod out over the top of a bamboo plant as they grew like an inch a day or something. Wouldn't this be just the job for never ending supply of chip ? In the building game the landowner generally makes the best wedge, is this the same with trees ?
  7. Looking at getting a set of these made up. Lifting pallets with straps nearly allways ends up breaking the pallet. Anyone use similar for lifting pallets with hiab's ?
  8. that looks a bargain. looks like new. Tempted...
  9. you wont be taking them on, the employment tribunal will. If its a plc then there will be a union for sure. Join it and let them take care of it. There is a difference between wages and earnings remember. There's No 'Gender Pay Gap', But Here Are 11 Reasons Why There Should Be - Breitbart
  10. no there isnt. Companies as a rule dont like to break the law as it costs them money! Not saying there are not historical issues, just look at how much brum council had to cough up for not paying females the going rate. If your wife's employer is anyway competent just bring the matter to their attention in a calm professional way. Can't see why they wouldn't want to address it if its a black and white claim. If you are not happy with the employers response then lodge a claim with the employment tribunal. Maybe if there is a union at the workplace they can help with it also. https://www.gov.uk/employment-tribunals/make-a-claim
  11. as a small business owner why the hell do you want a salary more than your tax code. You just end up giving it up in tax. Let your accountant earn their fee and sort it.
  12. no they dont thats a complete myth. Not only is it illegal its counter productive. If your wife genuinely has the same job spec then get it sorted. Equal pay - advice and guidance | Acas

our current one will take 3 pallets of conc roof tiles. Struggles to get out of third gear though! Must be close to 3 ton. Loading mats doesn't worry us to be honest, its not that often we are overweight.

we have an 02 plate tipper and it still going strong. The new ones are 7.2 ton GW downplated to 3.5 which is nice. easy carry a good 5 ton
  17. what a farce. the footings ar exactly the same for a dropped kerb as a normal kerb. Whats the difference ? It's idiotic councils coming up with this sort of rubbish which is why the country is going to the dogs!

  19. Just about to push the button and order a tipper with 1.5 ton pto hiab. Anyone drove the new euro 6 engine ? Donnk
  20. the pellet market is a cartel from what i seen. This is why i will be using a chip fed boiler even if the up front costs are double still worth it.
  21. Apologies for another 'recommend' thread but you guys know the good kit! Looking for a garden mower, collects grass and leaves a nice stripe. Had a really good honda for years until it got smashed. thanks
  22. thanks, sounds like exactly whats happening.
  23. Thanks for the replies, the covenant wouldnt protect the tree's per se but would restrict what could be done with the land. No housing, no access for vehicles etc I'll leave it in my will to a trust with beneficial ownership to my family. Covenants are a minefield, some can be ignored (caravans on drive type) planning ones can't as mortgage companies refuse to offer on them effectively enforcing the covenant without having to resort to civil legal action.
  24. could you not build one out of clay like a big kiln ?
