  1. Seen a few people on here mention about removing the spark arrestor from their saws to give it a little more power, just wondering how much difference it actually makes, what problems it could cause, and whether to put the screw back in when you take the screen off? J
  2. Okay cheers, it cuts pretty nice how it is to be honest, I'm just always after more! :-P
  3. Fair do's, though I saw that Rob D lists a 3/8 lo-pro bar and chain for the 445e on sugiharabarsuk.co.uk, but no sprocket.
  4. Just looking at different chainsaw chains and some sites say that, on a small saw, 3/8 lo-pro cuts better than .325 Was wondering if any on here have any experience of the difference between the two?
  5. Hi there, I was wondering whether people think it would be worth converting my little Husky 445e from .325 15" oregon pro am micro lite bar and chain to 3/8 lo-pro 15" sugi bar and chain, and if so where could I get the appropriate sprocket, bar and chain? J
  6. Aye, but would it make a noticeable difference to the saws performance, or is it not worth it on a small-ish semi-pro saw?
  7. How much difference do you reckon a muffler mod and retune would make to a Husky 445, and would it be worth it?
  8. Hey, does anybody know of any decent funding to help me get onto a climbing course? (I'm in South West Wales) I already used Princes trust for my CS30/31, but they've said they can't award me more than once
  9. Sounds to me like rape oil is the best ecological and economical choice! Though I don't like the endless blankets of stinky yellow fields needed to produce the stuff...But ah well!
  10. Dinnae fash yerself mate, I haven't been on Arbtalk long, but I've read enough threads to know that if they haven't been at least minorly derailed by the fifth post, then either it's really serious or anybody with a bit of wit and humour is either working or asleep :-P
  11. Where do you get it from at £48? I'd much prefer bio oil, and for that price would happily buy it over mineral :-)
  12. Cheers, wanted to be sure it would last before buying a bigger bottle :-)
  13. Wasn't expecting it to turn into a thread about cancer...But thanks for the suggestions! I think I'll have a looksee at Rye Oils :-)
  14. I was wondering how long a bottle of 2 stroke and a bottle of chain oil will last if left unopened, and how long they'll last once opened?
  15. Hey guys, as far as I'm aware, the Super Sexy chain oil from Northern Arb supplies is the best value for a 25l bottle (I don't want any more than that!), but I was wondering if anybody on here knew of anywhere cheaper to get chain oil?
  16. Would you be able to give me any pointers on that one? Not done much engine with other than to get my ticket, but I'm a quick learner! :-P
  17. Would it be the same deal with my husky 445 then?
  18. Would really like to hear how to get this deal from RobD!
  19. You can get a Husky can with fillers here for £29.99 ^.^ http://www.gardenmachinesltd.co.uk/husqvarna-combi-5l-fuel-and-25l-chain-oil-can-1527-p.asp
  20. Nah, I've been using it for months and it cuts like a proper good-un! Just having some problems with "easy tool less" clutch cover and tensioner (of course) [emoji19]
  21. Hey everyone, thought it'd be worth checking this - I started having a go at this tree surgery business last September, and bought my dad's tiny echo off him so I'd have a saw for a couple of my own little jobs - but that meant he didn't have a saw, so he goes on eBay and finds a little husky homeowner saw for 140 ish quid, and buys it as a birthday present for himself in late October. The saw arrives, and in the box is not, as expected, a little small engined homeowner saw, but a semi-pro 445e with an 18" bar! Lots of eye rubbing and checking and re checking, but nope - he really had just (somehow) bought a brand new 45cc semi pro husky for £140! So pretty quick smart I says take your echo back, I'm having the nice big saw! And throw him £200 for it, absolute steal. But yeah, wanted to see if it was anyone on here that had sold the saw, and if it was then thank you very much, I'd have got nowhere near as far by now with the little echo as I've been able to with my lovely husky!
  22. Hey there, been following Arbtalk for a while now, and finally went and joined (needed a little advice on my Husky), so I thought I'd say hello all and I look forward to my time on the forum ^.^
  23. Also, is there a single website selling these that isn't in America! I would mind if it weren't for the customs and the handling fee on anything over £15 Sent from my XT1039 using Tapatalk
