  1. Well it’s stoped me from even thinking about it, knock on effects for farmers and a lot of businesses up here in Scotland will be bad as I’m sure it will be elsewhere Definitely zero idea of how to implement a growth strategy. Even the Tories listened on this particular topic. I’m seriously considering whether a lot of what I do is actually worth the hassle in the long run when the returns are getting less and less.
  2. Nice little twist of words 🤷‍♂️pretty sure that scheme has always existed ie the ability to come in with money, run or set up a business etc. Strangely the contents and link police ain’t all over you 🤔. Another way to look at it is to compare it with the current UK administration and its attitude to business owners.

  4. That’s from the last time is it not Mark

  7. Viable alternatives are?? You think Putin cares about Russian or Ukrainian casualties?? I’d imagine at some point someone in your family was on the Eastern front J, tactics and ruthless disregard for human life hasn’t changed one bit since then in the Russian mindset.
  8. Spend a month in a trench on the front lines and I’d imagine your view on this might change. That’s if your foot could cope.
  9. Finland winter war !
  10. What’s making you despair J Strong possibility that a peace of sorts will be happening in Ukraine soon. Not ideal I agree as I’d have loved to see Ukrainian forces push back the Russians all the way to the border but that meat grinder is just too expensive in lives to ever achieve. Like Finland they may end up losing territory but surviving. I’m not sure why everyone is suprised at the Americans wanting their pound of flesh. I guess many don’t realise we have only recently cleared the slate ourselves from WW2. We spent years paying off debts whilst the marshal plan helped the German recovery massively post ww2 not exactly to the Victor the spoils in that case.
  11. What is it you keep saying “ Daily Starmer” the left on here have still not got over the election results it would seem. You are aware we have a government of our own making a rip roaring **************** up of things. Ed the mong still blaming global gas prices today I see, when in reality gas is down in price. More defence spending, a stronger military throughout Europe 👍long overdue. Why would the current administration release info such as this ??
  12. It was a serious question Gareth, I hear a lot about wind and sun etc and it would seem SP is putting himself out there as a bit of an authority on such matters, hence it would be nice if he told everyone what his area of expertise or occupation is rather than remaining as this anonymous generally speaking political or social commentator. We had periods earlier this winter of sustained overcast calm weather where virtually zero renewable energy was being produced. As for the Grid 🤔was it not functioning pretty much ok whilst we had a stable base load capacity 🤷‍♂️which fool would close a power station before you have an alternative 🤷‍♂️ Anyway SP will surely be along to explain his reasoning and knowledge on this subject or alternatively he will like a true political type absolutely dodge the question as he’s done many times before on a number of topics.
  13. 🤷‍♂️ Any fool would realise that’s a prerequisite for any industrialised nation to survive. Currently we have some of the highest electricity prices in the world, made worse by a ludicrous headlong rush toward the fabled net zero dream.
  14. What about when the wind doesn’t blow 🤷‍♂️
  15. You spent any time up Pentland Firth SP or indeed the Severn Estuary?? Tidal is tricky 😂 “ a bit aggressive to infrastructure and moving parts” surely the understatement of the day. Maybe if you shared with the Forum your occupation or background it would help somewhat.
  16. Spoken like a man living in Sweden not North East of Scotland. SSEN are lobbying big time for planning reform, 🤔you think that’s for the good of humanity or the shareholders at the end of the day.
  17. 😳😳That’s a lot of batteries J, we can’t according to Labour afford to help pensioners never mind put a never ending supply of batteries into millions of homes. Mind you imagine the potential corporate profits on that boat. What happens when they need replacement??. Or be sensible build a rake of nuclear capacity and stick possibly a few wind farms over the horizon not on land with all the associated OH lines, pylons and substations scarring the countryside.
  18. 😂😂Free, you and Milliband on the same medication. What happens when it’s dull, overcast and there is no wind, the exact weather conditions we have experienced loads of since Xmas ?? National grids own power generation app showed low single figure power generation for renewables on numerous occasions. The only way this will work is if the whole renewable gravy train is a nationalised enterprise, currently it’s a very profitable free for all. I’ve said it numerous times, Energy, Water and numerous other things should never exist to make profits for multinational corporations.
  19. Pure ideological garbage from start to finish.
  20. Lovely day up in Turiff, some nice oak and sycamore milled up for a client. Sycamore was bloody hard mind. Long old day but at least it keeps you out of mischief.
  21. I’ll still take that as I served in **************** all 😂, Soldier with an i.
  22. 😂😂I’ll take that as an I was never actually in **************** all 😞Well that’s you and Trump with at least one thing in common.
  23. That is a massive surprise. Mind you how hard can any single government kick businesses before someone on the inside wakes up to the consequences.
  24. Atheism, cats and dogs the rest is fair game. After life 👍👍 4cda90c6-68c7-496b-89d9-cb5a8153c830.mov
  25. Apple pulls data protection tool after UK government security row APPLE.NEWS Customers' photos and documents stored online will no longer be protected by end-to-end... 🤔Apparently this is going to make us all safer 😳according to the government of course.
