  1. Visqueen will do the trick the corners are easy to sort , if it’s not tidy at end of job put a timber border around it . It’s easy to overthink all this. Keep it simple ?
  2. Looks like you have the same bullshit in place as Scotland All evidence points to open spaces being the safest. In reality I’m starting to basically ignore Sturgeon and her control freak guidance. Common sense and taking precautions goes a long way.
  3. The benefit/negative ?‍♂️?‍♂️of a global media and the internet is that it allows the armchair experts to pass their opinions. The daily microscopic dissection of every single move governments are making driven in no small way by media hype is tiring to say the least. Meanwhile up here in Scotland we tiptoe at a snails pace Governed by saint Nicola of the lectern to some form of easing of the totally in ineffective lockdown. Scotland the brave ?????? Brave as long as the enemy in Westminster picks up the tab of course.
  4. No it was a totally different report with a sky reporter observing this from a fishing boat. Virtually identical scenario though. Problem is with Farage all that happens is people use the racism card, but he’s right what’s happening is a total disgrace that someone somewhere should be held accountable for.
  5. For now but you know Nicolas views on immigration in Scotland
  6. Watching a sky news report just now of them witnessing a French patrol boat escorting illegal immigrants to the border point mid channel to then be picked up by UK border force and brought back here. WTF is going on down there on a daily basis ????. French authorities are obviously happy for them to cross unimpeded or even with tacit assistance.
  7. The frontline staff did what they are paid to do and did it very well. The mass media stoked adulation inc the Thursday night thing is possibly a bit ott but that’s just my opinion. Problem now is that especially in the devolved parliaments how to deal with this has become a political game. The NHS is not in need of protecting anymore, the stay at home in Scotland message is a total joke when you look at the figures and what is actually happening in real time outside around the country. There is no bloody lockdown and never was.
  8. Andy is well known on here, Ive been to his place as he helped me out with some Oak pieces. You are safe passing the address to him for sure. A free axe is decent offer.
  9. Today’s brief by her was a total and utter insult to people’s intelligence Andy. The patronising rubbish that was coming out of her mouth was disgusting, worse still was none of the questions by the media representatives contained anything that even remotely held her to account.
  10. As much as I understand the desire to protect people I truly do not think she neither realises or cares about the damage this is doing to people’s economic and mental wellbeing, I know from my own experience that the financial stress is starting to take its toll and that my kids are desperate to get back to school.
  11. Currently listening to Sturgeon giving her daily propaganda talk. I’m more than ever convinced that she is totally deluded in regards the value of the drastic measures being taken versus the actual reality of the worries for most working class people in particular small business and self employed wondering where this is all going. Protect the NHS she keeps saying. Hospitals other than Covid 19 units are virtually deserted intensive care usage in Scotland less than 20% of capacity ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️ Tbe desire to hang onto the power and control this gives her is blatant.
  12. The phrase protect our NHS is still being bandied about up here in Scotland to justify yet more control and an extension of a totally bogus and ineffective lockdown. Current intensive care utilisation north of the border is lower than anywhere else in UK, depending on what source approx 20% of total capacity ?‍♂️?‍♂️.
  13. Deploy army on Border to stop lockdown trips, says Highland councillor WWW.THENATIONAL.SCOT THE army should be deployed on the Border to stop people who flout lockdown restrictions travelling... The sheer stupidity of this is beyond belief. The SNP is dragging Scotland down a different route for purely political reasons. Army on the borders WTF, who do these arseholes think they are ?‍♂️. Are we not allowed to think for ourselves or take our own precautions or do we need a control freak SNP government to dictate how we exist and function on a day to day basis.
  14. You read that wrong man ?? jokes aside if I was gonna protest I’d have put a bit of effort into the sign. Lockdown is done for now Mark even up here in Scotland it’s just totally ineffective.
  15. The girl being lifted in the picture
  16. The silence in the media regarding the number of illegal immigrants crossing the channel is deafening. What’s maddening is the fact they are brought ashore once and if intercepted mid channel. The media won’t even call them what they are ie Illegal, instead it refers to them as immigrants.
  17. Agree it was never a full on effective lockdown ?‍♂️I’m up in Aberdeenshire and regardless of what shite sturgeon is putting out about Scotland vs England or believing her own propaganda there most definitely isn’t one in place up here neither.
  18. Local Chinese in my home village were Hong Kong Chinese and hated the mainland Chinese authorities.
  19. Really?? Yeah the facts are out there for sure what about the Brazilian guy on the tube ?? The guy killed at the G20 protest etc etc take a hard look at his background at cps and some of his decisions.
  20. Wouldn’t bother with any of that build a decent base with a good membrane below it. Let it go off and then put some good treated sole plates down with a dpc between those and the concrete base. I have used decent Hili anchor bolts to secure the sole plates with good results ( don’t rush ref the drilling as you need the concrete to be pretty hard rather than green so 2-3 days min curing time) Then just crack on with the build, good airflow under and through the base of the structure to avoid dampness will do more for longevity than overthinking the concrete base. If you are building from scratch try and make sure the rain run off does not lie on the concrete base ie have an overlap at edges to allow rain to fall clear of base or good guttering helps.
  21. Buy a roll of visqueen and once you have levelled and sorted the base put this down and everything thereafter goes on top of that, that’s no more than you will ever see done on sites. 150-200mm of decent concrete on top of a membrane you will have no probs. The timber structure no doubt will be on it own timber sole plates which you can also put a dpc in between those and the concrete.
  22. Concrete is in itself waterproof if thick enough, end of day there are concrete rigs and even hulls out there at sea. I’d lay a plastic membrane below the whole pour and build the shutter reinforcement etc etc on it. There are loads of different types of additives out there that can improve its properties but the price starts to go up if you order them from one of the bigger suppliers. Best thing you can do is tell them what you want it for and the tech guys at the supplier will give you a spec, end of the day they are supplying thousands of cubes of the stuff. concreting is like many things it’s all about the prep, make sure the shuttering is spot on as nothing worse than watching it pop. Powerscreeds and power floats are east to get from most big hire chains too. Are you building walls up from the base or is it a timber type structure ?? how many cube ??
  23. Look into his past and his track record at the cps before you want him as PM and don’t be fooled by the bullshit knighthood dished out for towing the line.
