  9. I'm pretty sure I can come round to the French way right now, Merci beaucoup, mon ami, je voudrais un demi de biere blonde avec une autre p.s. lunch, 1/2 an hour, unpaid.
  10. Of course there's the attraction of having something that you can't easily get, I'd quite like one but realistically for a work saw of that capacity I'd be looking at something more modern. That said I've been searching all over the net to see if I could find somewhere selling them but no luck. Still looking for a Mac 10-10 or similar with no luck, went to the local Saturday market a couple of weeks ago and on the way in met a guy coming out carrying two McCulloch strimmers and what looked like and indeed turned out to be a 10-10, asked him if it was a 10-10 and he'd no idea what it was. Looked like it had sat for some time as there was white corrosion on the air filer cover. I asked if he was going to sell it on but he reckoned he'd fix it and use it. It'll never happen IMO and I must have missed it by minutes
  11. I use 12mm Sirius with my portable capstan winch and it's holding up pretty well considering the amount of abuse it's taken, easy to tie and untie even after max pull (2t) on the winch, seems to be very low stretch which is exactly what I need. Also looked really nice before I started to use it, used to be red/white, now light brown/dark brown
  12. Very basic Excel for me, one for Sales one for purchases, I also keep a record on paper. I use an invoice book for sales and all purchase receipts are kept in a folder by month. My 1st year so expect my accountant to tell me I've done it all wrong. Also my accountant sorted out my Sole Trader status thing with HMRC and I haven't heard from him either, not that I expected to tbh, I think the idea is that if I have any questions I call (and no doubt pay) him. He told me to record the following for sales, Invoice Date Invoice Number Customer Name Amount Cash/Cheque/BACS For purchases, Invoice Date or Tax Date if Tax Date shown on receipt/invoice (not the date you placed/paid the order) Supplier Amount Cash/Cheque/BACS/Debit Card/Credit Card. Hope this is useful.
  13. I tried safety glasses myself but due to having very open pores (aka sweaty old sock ) couldn't get on with them, switched to a vizor/visor but got fed up eating saw chips, not being able to see if it was raining as the dust stuck to it and finally getting poked in the eye by a leylandii branch that came up under the vizor (bloody sore, still felt like there was something in my eye 3 days and a trip to A&E later) I added a mesh visor, quite like the combo.
  14. Have you considered a Petzl with the Vizor? you can still fit a mesh visor with the vizor underneath.
  15. Never mind not believe, a lot (not all) of them wouldn't understand the concept of a days work.
  16. I'm too old to climb everyday to be honest, the odd day subbing and the odd day for myself when I can pace it is fine and really the 360 works for me, I like the 501 but the 8002 is just too old school and really needs an update as it's simply too heavy and doesn't compare well with the Husky 576XP I had a chance to use On the subject of my knocking the choice of others that isn't my intention but realistically on a thread about the saw I use I have to try to give my reasons for choosing it rather than just saying 'Oh they're the best' I don't think I've been overly if at all critical of Husky or Stihl or ever commented on a thread about either the 540 or 201. I've used a variety of Husky and Stihl when working with others and didn't find any I didn't like, the 2 that stand out though are the MS200T and the 576XP, I'd gladly own either or both but for the aforementioned reasons I choose Echo, probably sentimentality isn't much of a reason too choose one thing over another but for lack of a better reason it'll do p.s. if I came across as overly argumentative (No, really? ) I apologise, not trying to fall out with anyone.
  17. I'm not a full time climber, most of the time I do forestry. I'd still probably buy the Echo, for a variety of reasons that are valid for me, sentimental reasons for one, I still have my late fathers CS-701SVL, 1975 and still running, two, no aututune/mtronic whatever and three, I like to use something less mainstream. I didn't say it wasn't worth the extra money, what I said was In short there's nothing I can see that makes it justifiable for me to spend an extra £200 on the Husqvarna or Stihl toppers. Others will obviously have different opinions which is fine, anyone wants to give me a Husky or Stihl I'll gladly use it
