  1. Morning all, Bit cooler today, and only doing a very small job for a friend. The weekend approacheth.
  2. Morning all, Feeling tired after yesterday’s efforts in the heat, but job went well. Hedges today.
  3. Morning all, Looking hot again. Repeat pollard on a weeping willow today. I’ll make sure I keep as much of the top in place as long as I can. Keep cool if you can.
  4. Morning all, Looking hot. Water water.
  5. Morning all, Same for me as Mick and Stubby, Doug. I probably go to bed too early as well. Broken sleep for years now, since mid fifties. However, I don’t feel sleep deprived next morning. Looking warm this coming week.
  6. Morning all, Digging some shrub stumps out this morning. Front garden on a housing estate. Certain song lyrics I don’t want to hear include Jumping Jack Flash it’s a gas gas gas, hanging on the telephone by Blondie, like a virgin by Madonna, and nothing by Wet Wet Wet.
  7. Not yet, it plays up briefly when setting up for the day then behaves, is the usual pattern.
  8. Morning all, Fine day here. Straightforward job today, as opposed to yesterday’s that need a magician’s wand.
  9. Morning all, MEWP job today. Overly heavy side prune on an old horse chestnut. I have advised against this a couple of times but customer is adamant. I have put in writing that it won’t make the tree safer, possibly the opposite long term. It is not visible to anyone else, so I may as well get paid rather than someone else. Have a good day all.
  10. Morning all, Blue sky here. Back to hedge trimming today. Yawn yawn. Bread and butter domestic.
  11. Morning all, Heavy rain forecast here, but not come yet. Might do a small climbing job if it is mild, otherwise clearing a large fallen section of a big old apple tree. Stay safe all.
  12. I haven't known one bounce back from the description you give.
  13. Morning all, Forecast rain here, but no sign of it yet. Maybe do a bit in the garden, otherwise taking it easy. Happy Sunday
  14. Morning all, Doing three quotes first thing, then not a lot. Have a good weekend.
  15. Morning all, Grass cutting and hedge trimming at home if rain stays away. Happy Friday
  16. Morning all, Finishing off and tidying up yesterday’s conifer trimming/shaping. We worked flat out for 8 hours, customer home all day. Never an offer of a drink. Won’t be going there in the future.
  17. Morning all, Sorry to hear about your FIL Pete. Six weeks is hardly time to adjust to the diagnosis, let alone come to the end. Shaving conifers today that I would leave as they are if they were mine. Customer happy to pay though.
  18. Very nice. Wish my body was 20 years younger still! Used to enjoy that stuff.
  19. Morning all, Raining for the morning. Dismantling a willow today. Not too big, so may be able to wait for the rain to stop.
  20. Morning all, Last day on a hedge job then trees for a change 😀. Have a good week y’all.
  21. The common theme here is the need for compressed air. Does anyone manage without it?
  22. Morning all, Happy Sunday.
  23. Morning all, Bit of rain expected here. Off to look at a large ash to dismantle with a colleague. Got dieback, right outside entrance to very large nursing home, ambulances every day. Hope I can resolve the intermittent glitch on the mewp before that job.
  24. Morning all, Going up to 26 degrees here today. Went to Pirtek hydraulics yesterday (I know they are not the cheapest, but there are nearby and always have the right fittings in stock) and asked them to fit a flow reduction valve in a very new looking hose off my hedgecutter. Said company policy was make a new hose only, wanted about £170 for a 4m hose. I managed to sqeeze the valve into a tight spot on top of the valve block. Bloke was very helpful sorting the fittings for this, but their policy is either litigation paranoia or profiteering as far as I can see.
  25. Morning all, More hedge trimming today. We fitted foam pipe insulation round the shaft of the long reach cutters. Much less vibration gets through to left hand. Also wearing padded gloves. Still not heard from Peds have we?
