  1. Yes, but banking is immoral:biggrin:
  2. Completely agree SteveA, The idea seems to be, 'you lot are all in it together, you just get along nicely with the austerity would you, that will help us out greatly while we get on with business as usual.'
  3. I'm not sure any of the parties really care too much about costing their policies, after all it isn't their money, its ours Particularly annoying, I find, are individuals like Lord Ashcorft. Here we have a man who doesn't even live in the UK, runs an opaque international business empire, doesn't pay UK taxes and yet sees fit to meddle in the politics of our country. If people like that, along with the global corporations such as Aamazon and Starbucks, paid there dues then funding our country would be all the easier and we would all benefit
  4. No, AR421 would seem to suggest so but MC413 makes it clear that it isn't. Those policies are hot mutually exclusive in my opinion however they could be deemed to be so - clarification required.
  5. I think its perfectly fine that the Greens have produced a large number of policies, excellent in fact. Surely what is required is debate, (just as we're having on here). I would hope that points that are raised in these debates would be considered by the party and then policy refined. Listening the views of others and taking into account their views is wha we would all want I would think? Certainly its much better than the reactionary, PR driven bollocks we get from the main parties.
  6. I think you're wrong Paul, Policy CY502, in the Countryside section of their document says that humane methods of killing animals for pest control will be required. That means shooting is fine, surely
  7. Really:confused1: I've just read the forestry section of their policy document and no mention is made of that. I would think that policies FR202, FR203, and FR301 should be enough to interest anyone n this forum in voting for them
  8. Thanks for the link SteveA, I'm reading it now, its certainly organised, clear and accessible
  9. Totally agree with you both Kevin and Stewmo - I think thats why we should all be doing something different at the coming election, like voting Green.
  10. Cheers Jon, He's asking silly prices then - thats what I thought. It'll be interesting to see if anyone buys either the wood or the 880.
  11. I have to agree with you on all of that Wrsni, very true
  12. Seems crazy to me but it will be interesting to see if theres any takers
  13. As much as anything Wrsni I think a vote for a 'minor' party is a vote for democracy, hence the rapid expansion in membership of the Greens when the broadcasters decided not to give them a platform. Its the Great British public refusing to be pushed around and told what to do. That has to be a good thing
  14. Don't vote Tory Tree-Fancier, They've had their chance - Its time for a change, go green!
  15. What do you make of this:confused1: firewood logs | eBay
  16. Here's an article from the Financial Times, (one of my personal favourite sources of information. IMHO a sensible, informed, right of centre viewpoint. It makes it quite clear where the roots of the 2008 financial crash lay: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/7f8aaf08-a122-11e2-bae1-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3Oynwfcb7
  17. The reason the country is skint now is Thatchers deregulation of the banking industry that had maintained stability since the Great Depression. And who are the Tories sking to pay for it with there austerity? You and me. Personally I haen't forgotton about Sir Fred Goodwin, he totally rodgered RBS then cleared off with his £10 million pension at the taxpayers expense while the Tories have, very skillfully, moved the debate away from the bankers and onto welfare. Get the plebs arguing among themselves, divide and rule, all jolly fun
  18. Completely agree Wrsni Lets not forget what the Tories did to Liverpool. Remember Geofffrey Howe advised Thatcher to leave the whole city to 'managed decline'. Hardly a tea party was it?
  19. I think it was an utter nightmare. The destruction of the industrial north of our great country unforgiveable. You're right though to say that she did believe that she was acting in the national interest, she was just misguided.
  20. So, did I mate Know I now what a lying bunch of shucksters they are they'll never see my vote, ever, ever, ever, again
  21. Well, it wasn't a good experience was it Wood wasp
  22. Yes, I agree with you mate - totally had it with all that old manipulative bollocks that the old lot keep dishing out. Not sure about another woman PM, remember the last one Here in deepest Norfolk voting has always seemed a totally pointless activity to me (50,000 Tory majority) however a few months ago I changed my mind when I was told that if I used my vote wisely I could perhaps help to save the deposit of a worthwhile contender if hothing else - hence I will be voting Green Interestingly I heard about two weeks ago from my brother in law in Brisbane, hes just joined the Greens too, so maybe this is a global phenomenon
  23. And modest
  24. Good for you Stoke Wood Project Just been having a look at it myself now - anyone else a member?
  25. Whatever way you cut it, a huge percentage of the population of the UK have no desire to sacrifice/change one iota of their modern lifestyle in the name of saving the planet. Thats probably the best argument that I've heard for giving them a place on the televised debates
