  1. Well I run my own business and I'd most certainly prefer to see Miliband as PM than Cameron. Its disapointing we only have a choice of the two IMHO.
  2. But hes a nice prick, Cameron and Osbourne are two very nasty pricks
  3. Heres a thought for everyone thinking of not voting. Personally I've always considered my vote of no worth (here in Norfolk the Tory majority is massive) however I was told recently that my vote does have a value - it can be used to attempt to to save the deposit of a small party, like The Greens, for example. That seems good advice to me.
  4. Nope, they don't fill me with any confidence but we have a ridiculous first past the post system that simply doesn't reflect the pluralistic views of the UK population. Tory ideology, ultimately, rests in their belief in their own superiority, very unpleasent.
  5. Labour didn't cause the recession - that would be Tory/Republican free market economics
  6. You have to think they chose the wrong Miliband for sure.
  7. Yep, the Tories benefit their public school chums the best,, thats all the folks making over £150k .
  8. Actually I'm wrong to say that the country is bankrupt, of course it isn't. It was the banks that went bankrupt and caused us to have to bail them out which is the root cause of the financial crisis. Its free market economics that have caused the problem, through too little regulation of the banks in a global financial ecology. We're not Greece, however sadly, we're not Norway or Singapore either.
  9. Thats exactly what I'm sayingSkyhuck, or trying to say
  10. Heres something about the Eastern Europeans - its the business community thats pushing for them to come in. Thats because they work like crazy. I know a company thats near to me that WON'T employ English workers. The whole factory is staffed with Eastern Europeans, and that includes the receptionist. The only English are the three bosses that I was talking too. Theresno way the business community is going to allow the UK to leave the EU or clamp down on immigration too hard,.
  11. I have, what have I missed:confused1:
  12. No - that would be Margaret Thatcher. Here's a quote from the financial Times: 'Bank deregulation part of Thatcher legacy'. Its well worth reading the FT, great surce of info IMHO.
  13. Thats true - sadly Gordon wanted to believe the banks, (after all they were alovely source of taxfor many years). He should have been wiser. No Uk governemnet has 'fixed the roof while the sun was shining'. Look at what Norway has done with its North Sea oil momey - we could have done much, much better.
  14. Exactly, I can't see how any UK political party could have done any different. It was a crisis of unregulated global capitalism - the Tories are cheerleaders for that.
  15. Well that would be Gordon Brown - he didn't have much alternative did he If he'd allowed HSBC, RBS etc to go under then we'd all be kissing our cash goodbye
  16. I was only kidding too, sorry, forgot to put a
  17. The last Labour government didn't bankrupt the country - that would be the bankers. We, the taxpayers, had to bail them out.
  18. They're a disgrace - any of the others, just not the public schoolboy lot
  19. Cheers all, If thats Red Oak then thats ace I'll mix it in with some willow and alder that I have. I have noticed when i split a few logs that it has a smell I don't like - I also dislike the smell of what I know to be oak that I've split in the past. a'm hoping thas another indication that its oak.
