  17. It would not be cost effective to use stihl parts on a 024 of this age
  18. My stihl 024 that I have more or less rebuilt / new piston and cylinder fuel pipe and fillter pull cord ect is up and running and just about run in but earlier this week I could not stop the chain runing on at tickover so thought I would have a look at it today on striping the saw I noteced the non genuine clutch That I bought of the net had 2 of the 3 springs missing so it had very little resistance and was constantly engaged even at low tickover i know you get what you pay for but this as seen very little use and I will be contacting the supplier and I'll let you all know how I get on. I have now put the original stihl clutch back in the saw as any one else had this sort of problem

  20. if a person asks for a saw porting then as adults that is there choice any saw is dangerous if not used properly or in the wrong hands but a disclaimer might be the way to go to cover yourself

  23. Got a new stihl blower at work 3weeks ago and it's not as powerful as the 2year old Mikita I'll be watching this post with interest
  24. New piston and cylinder fitted but as I was puting it back together thought I would check the gauge fillter in the carb as suggested by spud (I had just cleaned this a week ago) and it was sh-ted up again cleaned it out put saw back together and running it in slowly for first few tanks so far so good . Orderd a new fuel line and fillter and cleaned air fillter hopping it will solve the problem of it geting sh-ted up again they should be here tomorow
  25. Just a quick one I have cleaned the air fillter on my 024 today gave it a scrub with warm soapy water and dryed it with a hair dryer should the fillter be lightly oiled or put back dry cheers
