  3. Cheers stubby I'll wait for spuds opinion before I order anything
  4. The damage was properly done before I owned the saw a the lad who I got it of did not have a clue and would of used any fuel and properly guessed the 2 stroke mix if he used 2 stroke oil at all he also would lend the saw out to any one. I only use stihl one shot 2 stroke oil the saw has never really cut right since iv owned it hence the new clutch and carb clean out at the moment don't know if it's the piston the bar or both
  5. Would this scoring make the saw loose power don't know. If I need a bar or piston kit now or both
  6. striped it down and there is scoring on the exhaust side pic 1 but the air intake side seem fine . Would this make the saw loose power if so Found a cylinder and piston kit on ebay for £40 so I'll give that a go as the saw owes me nothing really and would be a good spare .
  7. I am going to strip it today and have a look so I may be a new pot and piston. I was cutting to end of the bar but bottom side if you know what I mean but cheers anyway
  8. Good idea rob I'll give it a go cheers:thumbup1:
  9. The revs die as the saw bogs the saw dose not seem to bog if I cut with the tip of the bar but I don't know if this is because there is less chain/bar in contact I striped and cleaned the carb a few weeks ago when the saw refused to start and found the gauze fully blocked and it starts sound now . I use stihl one shots so don't think its the fuel it starts and runs sound so I presume the plugs ok I'll remove the exhaust tomorow and have a look cheers
  10. Cheers mate I'll give it a go
  11. Cheers TGB Is there any way to check or is it a case of buy a new one and see as I have already dressed the bar and why do worn rails make the saw stick
  12. Having the same sort of problem with my stihl 024 it bogs down/sticks with very little pressure on it thought it may be the clutch so put a new one in still the same now thinking it might be the sprocket /clutch cover (don't know its name) that is worn or reading the above might need a new bar I dressed the bar after reading the above but still the same any ideas cheers

  19. Well herd nothing from the guy with the 365 but I think the 365 or the 550 will be my next saw I was looking at the 550 with auto tune it also plugs in to a comp and gives a read out of hours of use ect so don't no if it can be worked on and serviced at home . Maybe The old husky 162se I'm rebuilding at the moment could be the missing mid range saw I'm looking for time will tell

  24. At the moment I have a stihl 021 with a 12inch bar year 1996 and still going well and great for cross cutting fire wood and a stihl 024 with 16 inch bar runs well fitted a new clutch but seems to bog out with a little pressure on it (any ideas?) bothe saw are old and worn so I'm thinking of buying a new saw and thought about a husqvarna saw for a change I don't know much about the model numbers so I'm after some advice on a saw idealy a saw that can run up to a 18 inch chain and on parr of a stihl ms25/26 I use a new a stihl ms250 at work for felling and its a good saw I've been offered a second hand husqvarna 365 with a 18inch bar ( 1 year old but no recite of punches ) for £250 but I don't know if this saw is ott for my needs I i just want a medium size saw for felling/cross cuting ect what would you recommend cheers
