  1. Well the fiancé doing the clients I get addresses. Saves a lot of time for me .
  2. Indeed the most important is the loved ones around
  3. We are out spending time together, i love it!! Ok I hit the break if I see tree stumps. Just a reflex. My fiancé and my dogs. I do dearly enjoy the time with them , Still dealing with enquiries, However I do enjoy being off the grind. That constant grind . Luckily fiancé been in business before so she is understanding
  4. Hello [emoji112] I’m hoping to get a thread without flames [emoji91] At what point did you feel business took over your life completely ? And how did you manage family and friends?
  5. Good that, it was such hard work and dodgy firms. Good with a change
  6. If you are talking for the power lines, we do it differently compared to uk . As far as I know we never use a climber, due to everything is wood areas it would take to long time to climb them. It’s done manually with a 15m long pole saw with a silky blade, or precision felling, or helicopter for the highest branches. To clear them power lines, For the bigger power lines it’s done manually with a clearing saw, or by a forester machine with special attachment. Usually many small firms doing this jobs.
  7. You are such a inspirational kind of guy. [emoji106]. Getting a genuine feel of forward thinking from you. Your life must have been full of joy and opportunities. I also get a feel you want your fellow people to do very good and I know you feel happy for them. You sir are indeed a inspiration . [emoji23]
  8. I’m on a holiday in Avimore, here to spend some quality time with my adorable fiancé and fantastic dogs Corrie and Ria. They mean everything to me: they support me always. Wasn’t going to log in but curiosity took over. Guys . I see some saying I run a easy job, I don’t get tired. I did the hard work when I was young, I started out at age of 5 with a knife, took down a lot of trees, worked long days to keep dad happy. At age 12 I got my first Husqvarna 242 , Worked in our own forest and had a John Deere tractor 1650 if I remember right a 1984 model. Everyday from that age to 19 I did that. Entering military I realise my own strength at age 19, nothing I ever done or have ever since done comparing to that experience. Worked with precision felling trees beside power lines after military a 9 years. Done a 10 years of robotic welding also, And now at my age I have slowed down quite a lot, It’s a culture chock, that’s what this is. I have worked with hard people in my life, while now I just see softies. Some jumping to conclusions I can’t afford to get bigger machine, some think I’m not succeeding, or whatever conclusions some lot is making. You reflect your own failures, sad but true. Anyway I been here for two days now and I filled in a couple of days of work already up north, Mixing dog walks with getting work , Fantastic opportunities here. Also got 8 phone calls from this thread itself for stump grinding jobs. Thanks ! Really thankful [emoji108] But now I’m going to jump in a 5 hour pre heated sauna, poor heat bill. [emoji81][emoji81]. And a lot of buds. [emoji6][emoji6] Have a nice weekend [emoji173]️
  9. I’m only interested in a positive approach, we can disagree with positivity. Senses negativity from miles away, and I’m like NO NO ! To that carry on . And now I notice this creates negative thoughts from myself so I’m about to distance myself from it right now. I’m off from here again . Might come back and upset you lot again in a years time. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3] I wish you and all a great 2018 Bye bye
  10. This year will go vat registration. I get enough money to survive
  11. The first two years was just a big cost, the last 2 years been a bless specially late last year and this full 2018. Takes some time to get things moving. Learning the true cost of the business , learning to price accordingly, i do still do welding in oil / gas industry, and a full time job grinding. I’m blessed to have such a fantastic fiancé supporting me and helping with the paper trail and customer contacts. All I get is the addresses and go do the jobs, writing the risk assessments method statement I do myself. Means a lot to have good ones in that field. The money comes in is just some numbers, I’m no interested in it so much as long as I can put by to next machine and next houses to buy and rent out. What I’m suggesting is that if some want to go to next level, then one must take the risk. If one is not prepared to die in the process then I don’t think one can reach out to it. This might be a one man band done to perfection or a big company 100 employees. I honestly don’t understand the hype about it. I hear it every day from fiancés dad, and others I’m going to kill myself and do on. I’m happy to take the risk, working very hard towards goals and will stop at nothing. I just tried to give a insight to how things work in real life for a hungry entrepreneur out hunting ! And others could see what’s needed.
  12. I’m going to grab a bag of popcorn and read all this fantastic empowering comments, will get filled with motivation and determination [emoji3]. You are such a inspiration you lot [emoji123].
  13. I’m just in the door, relax Egg. I can’t use the phone while grinding or driving. And Packing for a holiday. I will have all time in the world tomorrow.
  14. It have not grown he says, it have grown something spectacularly good. One thing have not grown, rather went down to nothing. That’s debt. I’m delighted the direction I took this towards. Mick, you can sit there stirring the pot as much as you like, I did get pissed off on you, however now I feel real sorry for you. Brighten up Mick [emoji3][emoji3] It’s not all doom and gloom.
  15. Thanks It’s maybe great being back, [emoji850] Was in the house for 20:40, Some food and away for a night shift welding. Life is what it is. [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]
  16. Oh no ! I need to be careful what I post. I really don’t want to get Dempsey the shit stirrer triggered again. [emoji79]
  17. Don’t know what you are trying here, but you seem quite a unhappy guy, I truly feel sorry for you Mick. Try a positive approach on the day ahead you would feel much better. Give me a phone if you feel down perhaps I can help you ?
  18. Decided not to go for tree Surgery, staying dedicated doing stump grinding. Realistically I could find no passion in tree removals. was down that path trying it out, finished a few contracts, good money but failed to feel the driving force. So for me better to invest in stump grinders in various sizes.
  19. This thread is a attempt for me to perhaps give someone a insight in what’s needed in my opinion. However there might be bright ones out there can do it with less effort [emoji108].
